Seems like the Uk has a lot of promising fighters bubbling under the surface at the moment, but not many that would be known outside of the boxing community.

So my question is who is the next one to really break out and become well known across the country?

I'm talking Hatton at his peak , David Haye pre Klitsko etc

Chat show appearances, BBC breakfast , Sports personality of the Year etc

Not sure I would include either Froch or Groves as I think the public is more aware of the fight as a event then aware of them as fighters

I think Kell Brook, if he is able to get a stunning win over Porter could become a big deal. Also I think Anthony Joshua has the personality and the talent to become a major British sporting star.

    What do you reckon ?

obviously it depends on him winning, but given the high profile of his division and the potential of a massive domestic dust-up, it's set up nicely for brook.

he's fun to watch, but last night was a mismatch. i think viewing figures are hurt by the lack of sports coverage on 5 - only boxing and home cricket tests i believe. if they still showed uefa cup games they could promote bouts to general sports fans during ad breaks.

Mr Luke Campbell has all the tools to get to the top of boxing. Nice humble lad which apeals to the majority of the british public boy band style looks which will apeal to ladies and girls of all ages. Well mannered polite no bull **** or arogance these things will all add up to make luke the next face of british boxing

TBH think Brook is to old, you need to start young building up your fanbase

Brook doesn't have the personality he speaks like he is a ******. Galahad no chance especially at his weight class you just don't get a big profile at that weight. Campbell or Joshua potentially as they were Olympians. Realistically since hatton, khan is the most well known and a lot of that is due to the ams

Brook GTFO he has no personality at all. Maybe a strange choice but if Fury could win the HW title he would become a big deal, he has the charisma and personality and fights in a marquee division he can become a big star and he is young. Groves if he beats Froch will become a ppv fighter and he is young plus he will have the degale rematch another massive fight to further grow his profile. Carl Frampton quality fighter already big in Northern Ireland if he was to beat Kiko and then fight Quigg in a big fight and win he has the personality and fighting style to attract fans. Plus being connected ot Mcguigan is good for him people remembering Barry and all the nights he had ect they respect Barry so will be interested in a guy he champions so much.

furys and eubank jr have massive fanbases considering neithers even fought at euro level , maybe u could argue furys skipped that , but hes fought no 1 in the top 20 .... chanel 5 i think has a lot to do with there relative fame , although eubank has this plus his surname... kell brook will never in a million years be mainstream , ***** was selling us special k 10 years ago and hes still to fight a top 10 guy , luke campbell with the olympic gold and strictly come dancing has a good fnabase , but for me if ANTHONY JOSHUA gets anywhere near world level without a loss hell be hyped beyond belief

I only say Kid Galahad because of the amount of support he pulled in last night against a poor opponent

I think the stuff that goes along with him might help as well.

Memorable name and walk on music
    Nice style
Seems to come across pretty well in interviews aswell
