Lol. To say Khan has no boxing skills is a freaking joke. Now if you said something like Khan's inside fighting skills are sub par so he resorts to holding and pushing, then I could give that some credence. Khan prefers to work from long range because his jab is sick and his hand speed is untouched. But this guy's an Olympic silver medalist that won rounds against Kindelan. Most of the guys that we talk about on this board (fighters) would get dominated by Kindelan and yet a 17 year old Khan held his own and I think beat him later on before turning pro. I'm not saying Khan doesn't have flaws. His chin, his inside fighting skills I would say are two of his weaknesses. But he can box his a** off. Malignaggi, who I think has most people's respect, thinks Khan can give Mayweather a competitive fight. I've heard Roy Jones say the same thing. I think the majority of people that dismiss Khan generally have agendas that don't include impartial boxing analysis. Hell, I've heard Danny Garcia give Khan his props in regards to his boxing skills.

It was a clear improvement over his recent performances. He beat Collazo, a guy who plenty thought would knock him out, by a wide decision. There is a difference between pleasing on the eye and effective. Sometimes effective is boring and unattractive but that Khan/Collazo fight wasn't particularly boring or unattractive.

If you can't see the improvements in Khan then YDKSB.

Yes Khan held more but that's what he has to do to win, people criticised him for his lack of defence but when he puts in a more defensive performance people criticise him for that as well. Not every fighter can be a James Toney or a Pernel Whitaker and slip shots on the inside infact they are in the minority, plenty of ATG's couldn't do this.

This is only the 2nd fight with Hunter and the improvements while slow are there to see for those who know what they are looking for. Khan used to have almost zero boxing ability, he lived of his natural speed and athleticism.

Khan never used to counter punch, he'd make an opponent miss and dance away like a fairy. Againt Collazo he countered consistantly, I could barely believe my eyes. The first knockdown was a counter right hand as Collazo missed a right of his own.

Khan's foot work was previously erratic and unbalanced. He would throw stupid big combo's leaving himself off balance, out off position and begging to be countered. He now places his feet better and while he still occasionally over commits to the right hand bringing his trail leg forward and leaving himself prone it's much better than before.

Khan now knows how to clinch and even work a little on the inside. When he does leave himself out of position instead of just covering up and letting his opponent wail on him like Petersen did he now knows to clinch to prevent the counter attack from his opponent.

He showed he knew how to manhandle Collazo inclose, pushing his head and controlling his arms to maneuver his opponent into a position where he is either safe or able to get punches off on the inside like in the 10th when he maneuvered Collazo on the ropes and pushed Collazo arm away to expose his midsection on the body shot which led to the 2nd knock down. This is a clear improvement where Khan never used to work on the inside and just held on for dear life until the ref broke them up.

Khan showed an improved right hand. He telegraphs it less and now uses as a lead to pot shot his opponent then slip away, where previously he'd throw a stupid 3-7 punch combo leaving himself open to be countered then run.

The improvements are clear and this is coming from someone who can't stand Khan and only watches his fights in the hope of seeing him get KO'ed again. He's far from the finished product but he has improved.

Com on Khan was fighting A C- fighter at best and he was holding 98% of the fight, so it just goes to show you Khan at best is just an average fighter with a glass jaw.....

He looked good but Collazo looked as unmotivated as any fighter can, pretty much.

The holding by Khan was completely out of this world.

But if the ref doesn't say anything about it, then it's fair game in the fight, and it allowed Khan to win every round.

Leading with your head is illegal thats what khans opponents and all fast fighters opponents do. Khan also does the head pulling but, Maidana, Peterson, Diaz, Callazo even judah did it. Khan starting to get a lot of **** lately, when he used to trade, he was stupid and needed to clinch, now he does he cheats... then I guess so does Alexander, Mayweather, Wladimir, Hopkins, Ward, Guerrero....

Everyone who criticized Khan for being open, getting into exchanges, are now hating him for...not being open, getting into exchanges. This is hilarious

    It works both ways.

People who criticize fighters who do what Khan did to an extreme against Collazo should be treating Khan worse.

Name me 3 fights where Wladimir Klitschko held as much as Khan did against Collazo... I say that because Wladimir gets a lot of negative attention, particularly from Brits, in regards to his holding during fights. Those people, unless hypocrites, have wildly turned against Khan for his disgraceful fighting...

^ Not my opinions. Just pointing out that it works both ways.

First off I agree with your comment, he does has skills but he totally lacks a inside fighting game. The reason I said he lacks boxing skills is because the fact that he as no inside fighting skills makes me beleive he is not a good boxer so he over compensates with holding, pushing and laying on the back of his opponents neck. Anther huge flaw, Khan literally runs in the boxing ring, in stead of boxing or creating space, he runs for it, he gets his self completely out of firing range for him self and his opponent. He doesn't move side to side to keep his opponent in a bad distance, moves so far away that he spends alot of energy running around the ring.

I think Khan just like the W. Klitschko will be hard for anyone to beat if he is allowed to hold, push and lay on people neck. You can say the same for W. Klitscko, he is never deducted points for all the holding, pushing. Think about it, he is the only heavyweight Chanpion that fights on ESPN. Americans love boxing, but it is fustrating when you watch a fighter clearly cheat and is not punish for it!
