    Barry Michael was in some great stoushes. I thought his fight with Al 'Earthquake' Carter was a ripper. A huge win for him too.

    Tony Miller was a hard *******. Only stopped twice in about 20 years. His fight with Fenech wasn't pretty. But Fenech couldn't get him out of there.

    Unfortunately we lost both. There was a huge crowd for Fenech-Nelson 2.

    Strange how Harding won the two away fights against Andries and lost the home one.

    Likewise Fenech was very unlucky - some say robbed - not to get the win away against Nelson. But lost the home fight.

    Harding-Andries I is the most exciting come from behind win from an Australian fighter I have seen. It's on Adam Auld's you-tube account if you haven't seen it or want to rewatch it. And yeah it is strange how the hometown advantage never helped the 2 Jeff's.

    Jack Johnson VS Tommy Burns -Sydney, 26/12/1908


    Although from the short clips on youtube that I've seen of this fight it may not be the most exciting fight we've ever had (seems to be filled with clinching, and holding etc) it surely would be one of the most significant fights ever to be held in Aus

    I've been reading 'Unforgivable Blackness, The Rise And Fall Of Jack Johnson' lately. just started the fall part. From the depiction of the fight Johnson VS Burns was truely a defining moment in boxing's history.
    First time a black man had fought for (and won) the heavyweight championship of the world.

    Over 20,000 people watched the fights, climbing trees and whatever they could to get a view of it.

    Jack's victory over Tommy completely shook up the world in a way very few fights really have.

    Wood beating Mundine was one of the biggest upsets in Australian boxing history. Perhaps the biggest.
