http://www1.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/9311669/andre-ward-describes-froch-groves-ii-as-a-domestic-fight he says here that he feels Groves is avoiding him because he chose to have a rematch with froch instead of coming to america to fight him. So Groves should turn down a chance to avenge a controversial loss at Wembley in front of 80000 people for probebly 20 times the pay he would get to go to america and fight Ward and if he doesnt his ducking him, the longer he goes without fighting the more ridiculous his getting. "You've got to remember that. It's not here in America, that's not in Vegas, it's not in New York, that's a domestic fight, so there's a difference." well mister Ward this domestic level fight will be in front of an audience 5 times the size of anything youve boxed in front of before and both these fighters will probebly earn more than your highest payday. for the record Ward beats Froch even easier than in the first fight and also beats Groves easily imo but the man looks like his either losing his marbles or trolling or just trying to stay relevent. He could have had a wembley stadium fight with Froch if he wanted it before and made a career high payday but i suppose it wouldnt have been in Vagas or New York so it would mean nothing oh wait Wards never faught in Vagas or New Yorkatsch
due to injury and contract issues he hasn't been able to keep his name relevant within the ring, so he's trying it outside. unfortunately for him he's just coming off as jealous and bitter.
He's just trying to goad people into fighting him at SMW but I do think he's making himself look a little bit stupid and jealous. If Ward is gonna talk smack he needs to be fighting as well. Talking sh#t but not fighting isn't a great look. He also needs to show some balls and travel to fight and step up and face the LHW's.
No he's jealous that he's been on shelf again for long periods while he sues a guy who has done great by him, and while this is happening and he can't fight, froch a guy who he took to school to be fair to him is fighting the biggest fight of the year. He's jealous, bitter and a horrible ****, and a boring ******* to watch fight or listen to commentate
When you're no.1 in world like "S.o.G" you can say what you want, but i think he's obviously a bit riled with all the hype, money and attention Froch-Groves is getting especially when he would beat both of them in the same night, so it's quite understandable.
Boxing is a sport/bussiness/entertainment industry for them 3 reasons ward is not number 1 and he has very few fans he doesnt have the power to call the shots hes desperate for that sort of hype its cringing. A shame coz hes a great fighter one of the best infact but there is no buzz about him
True he would beat both. But we see so many pointless one sided affairs in boxing. Far too many. We also don't always get to see the best against the best for ridiculous reasons. This is one occasions where two fighters are giving people what they want to see as soon as possible and it is so close to call it is genuinely exciting. Even acclaimed experienced pundits and ex boxers disagree massively on this one. Give me a good well matched domestic grudge match over ward versus groves or froch ward two. Hopefully this is ward trying to tee up a fight against the winner though. For me if froch wins ward should be his last fight come what may. If groves wins it would be good to see too.
Ward, IMO, ruined his career when he asked Chad to move down. 1) Ward had beaten Carl and effectively cleared out the SMW Division 2) Chad (iirr) was the man @ 175 at that time. 3) If Ward would have gone up and beaten Chad, he'd be facing Stevenson of the Russian feller. But he made Chad come down, and he won't go up, his options are pretty f*cking slim. Ward NEEDS to show bottle, IMO. The man won't budge out of Oakland AND he won't move up. Groves and Froch don't need him as much as he needs them.
Ward should STFU the jealous is funny actually, Ward needs to deal with it nobody cares about him or ever will Froch Groves is a super fight something Ward will never know anything about.
:deal Unless somebody is willing to accede to all of Ward's demands and fight in his home Californian backyard then any potential fight ain't happening. Ward really is becoming tiresome and is in no place to lecture anybody in terms of where fighters should go to fight.
Yeah you cant beat a big domestic fight, but lets be honest here no matter how exciting Froch-Groves may seem they're both fighting for second prizes as Big King Ward's over in Oakland.
