Vea's last 3 fights - against McCracken, Siale and Cameron - were all wars for him. No wonder he retired after that lot.

I'm only about half way through at the moment but it has been really good. I'm enjoying it at the moment.
It's pretty thick with small print so its by no means a short story.

there is obviously a few parts of the book where information cant be veriffied (all noted by the aurthor) but I've been surprised how in depth it is.
its full of lil foot notes at the bottom of the pages with lil bits of info not exactly important to the main story but give a bit more insight into why things happened certain ways and who different people mentioned are etc.

True copped plenty of punishment I think Siale fought Pitt 3 weeks maybe a month after the Vea fight.
Siale is one tough nut heard his fight with Cronje was great too.

Vea broke his nose sparring Danny Green just prior to fighting McCracken, and McCracken proceeded to made a much worse mess of it.

Robbie Peden vs Nate Campbell II
Not quite as spectacular as their first bout in the US when Campbell stuck his chin out and Bomber was more than happy to accept the invitation to KO him, but another stoppage win to Peden and the IBF title belt into the bargain.

Some of the worst officiating I ever saw in the 2nd fight, Nate never had a chance.

Just too many to ever complete a list here, just about every Sydney Stadium main event should be listed, festive hall, Leichardt stadium the list goes on. No era of boxing was better than when Australia was in its peak of professional boxing.

Plenty of world class scraps fought here over the years. So many of them not available on film but the class of the fighters and the closeness of their abilities should mean they qualify for a thread such as this one.

    Freddie Dawson - Vic Patrick
    Vic Patrick - Tommy Burns
Jack Carroll - Bep van Klaveren
    Ambrose Palmer - Young Stribling
    Ambrose Palmer - Gus Lesnevich
Ron Richards - Fred Henneberry, all 10 fights!
    Fred Henneberry - Archie Moore
    Ron Richards - Archie Moore
    Tod Morgan - Jack Portney
Tod Morgan - Ned Tarleton, an epic draw.

I could go on and on lol.

If you type the words 'Australian Boxing' into Youtube there's 8.10 long video featuring Vic Patrick and about 2 minutes into it the Tommy Burns fight. Burns knocks Patrick silly in the end and the referee lets it go too long resulting in Patrick unconscious for 3 minutes.

    An Aussie great Vic Patrick.
