How can anyone think Eubank is a HOF fighter?

    He held the WBO crown, which at the time was regarded as a minor title, he was able to get away with fighting the 2nd tier of middleweights in the division except Benn. Don't give me Mike Watson was top Tier, he lost against the top tier guys eg. Mike Mcullum


    He never faced any of the top guys, Nunn, Toney, Jones, Mcullum Mclellan, Benn at least fought McUllam.

    Eubank is a perfect example of a fighter with decent ability who gets over inflated in our media coverage.


    Benn is far more worthy of HOF status, he fought abroad and beat a great P4P fighter in the G man.

    Eubank was also never the no:1 in his division at anypoint in his career.

    Easy, the HOF for boxing is a joke. They let just about ANYONE in.

    Where does Freddy roach disagree with me he said Eubanks was his best win , but didn't say he was HOF. Don't inflate Calzaghes record hes damm lucky he wasn't around when Nunn Toney Jones Mcullum were not around. He had a division where Glenn Catley was a world champion.

    Oh dear....

    Why do we get these posters who have quite blatantly never watched more than a 2 minute youtube clip of a fighter they are criticising.

    Benn & Eubank must be HOF in my opinion. This aint no ****ing Gatti or even MgGuigan, Eubank had elite skills.

    If the HOF just let legends in then i'd say no. But any old shite gets in these days and he was a bit above that. Although, massively overrated I agree with the author there. He was involved in nearly as many gift decisions as Sven Ottke.

    Yep. But American media coverage used to inflate the likes of Gerry Cooney and Darrin Van Horn.

    Eubank was a great fighter and would have beat Nunn (KO) and Toney(SD), but not RJJ. He has not done enough to be a HOF and was never interested. He was in the game for money and under-achieved, but confuse that fact and think that Eubanks was no good. He had allot of talent but his priority was money and not legendary status.

    beaten toney? and nunn? mate, im british and a eubank fan but no way was he a hall of famer. He dismissed a match up with Nunn as "he's a dangerous tricky southpaw" he had great fights with benn, was gifted the first decision against watson, gifted tons of decisions after that, basically just did enough to win in 99% of the fights he had. He was a decent boxer, great chin, average power, a great showman but no hall of famer or atg.

    He had very good power actually. He was gun shy after the Watson fight and lost him ambition. Like you say he tried to do the minumum and was just wanted to get paid and did not care about his legacy.
