It will happen.... Just as many thought Berto/Lacy/Matthysse were unbeatable KO artists they met their match when they stepped up... 1. Ward- very slick & undefeated 2.Groves- Very slick with good power 3.Froch- Bigger, stronger & battle tested 4.Jcc Jr- it might still happen in Sept,Jr is bigger and would make GGG quit on his stool 5.Gilberto Zurdo Ramirez- called out GGG, future Mexican ATG massive power
1. id pick Ward since GGG would be moving up, but would be a very close ,competive fight 2. Groves would get broken down even quicker than he did in the Froch fight. GGG has the skill to take away Groves right hand 3. think his too old now, but would be a war that id tip GGG to win 4. given his great chin Jcc Jr would take the beating of a lifetime 5. Zurdo looks like he has potential, but way to much lean body for GGG to hit, and considering GGG a great body puncher i see an early Macklin-esque stoppage
Ward would beat him, too fast, too skilled, to savvy. If Froch beats Groves then it's a fight I'd like to see. Both have power, though Golovkin seems to hit harder, both seem to have decent chins but Froch's is much more proven and hasn't failed him even against noted hard hitters like AA, Taylor, Groves and Kessler. Could be another Benn/McClellan like fight, with a feared hyped power puncher against a tough veteran with huge heart, desire and self belief. Both there to be hit both will be looking for the KO. Could be a real battle of wills, power and durability. If Groves can get past Froch then he could be another serious threat. Speed, power, skills, though can look vulnerable, dangerous fight for both men. Other than that I can't see anyone else being a threat near 160lbs. Chavez would get ground down, beat up and KO'ed, simply too easy to hit.
I agree with this... Ward is the only one crafty enough to beat GGG...unless GGG totally loses his power if/when he moves up to 168. I don't see that happening.
