    Quote:

Hearn also dismissed the email as an attempt at gaining exposure for ******. Ayling scoffed at this suggestion, arguing that it was a genuine offer for an autumn showdown between the best two Super bantamweights in the U.K.

“Frank doesn’t make offers because he needs exposure, he can use his column in The Sun for that,” he said. “We didn’t hold a press conference and hold up a six foot cheque, like Eddie’s father [Barry] did many times. We just sent a quick, simple fax from me to him asking for the fight to take place in September. I asked him to discuss it with Scott and said we’d be grateful to hear his response. I wonder if he even discussed it with Scott Quigg.

“What I can tell you, without telling you the figures, and having spoken to someone at Hatton Promotions, is that the offer is double the best offer Eddie ever made for Scott to fight Frampton. So we value Scott double what Eddie’s rating him, and bearing in mind that he hasn’t fought since he made an offer for his services how can he say it wasn’t a ‘wow’ offer? That means his offer was derisory.”

Ayling insisted that the fight would have presented the Bury-based boxer with his highest purse to date before asking why a counter-offer wasn’t presented.

“It was very, very good — I’d be surprised if Scott did turn it down,” he said. “Eddie didn’t come back and say he couldn’t do September because we’d have said: ‘What about November?’, and, like he said, he kyboshed the fight straight away.”

So if we dont believe Eddies offers are any good, how do we know this guy is telling the truth?

    this aimed at me?

No one disputes that an offer was made coming from Frampton's side.

I don't want to call names but I'm seriously thinking that your extremely thick so the final time I'm going to break it down step by step

Whilst Frampton was with Hearn and Quigg with Hatton the two camps where going back and forth calling each other out with no real substance..then the following happens..

    1) Team Frampton left Hearn/sky and signed an exclusive contract to fight on BN
    2) Hearn in response signs Quigg to sky..I'm assuming this is also exclusive to sky

= fight cannot happen until after Frampton has finished his BN contract - Hearn can offer anything he wants but it's worthless and he knows that.

Both Carl and Scott have been interviewed several times in the last year or so...once together by Kuggan which was very cordial and both said they would like to fight when the time is right = neither of them are ducking the fight but they know it's business and the money guys will sort it out when it's that time...
I don't know if anybody can make it any more simple then that for you...

Erm this is what ive been saying....

yet you and others like gmurphy have blamed Hearn for it not happening so why question Eddies offer etc and cosign people saying the same thing when realistically it cant happen yet?

That is trolling in the least, or very thick

I've never blamed anybody for the fight not happening - that's nonsense..what I have done is point out when fast car Hearn makes statements and he's spouting shite as I would also do if I think Barry is doing the same thing

Spouting shite..what like making an offer...when Barry is crying out for them to?

So you take issue with Eddie responding to calling out, not yet with the person who makes all the noise but in fact does nothing or claims to also make an offer? Never seen you criticise Barry in any of these threads for going on and on about wanting Quigg, how is Eddie making an offer actually worse?

I've seen recent interviews of frampton saying he is willing to fight quigg for free so technically Hearns offers must have been suggesting frampton should pay to take part in the fight

Are you actually MVC or did you make your account in an attempt to replicate one of the biggest trolls on here?

Anyway, I actually quite like Quigg, I've followed Frampton since he turned pro basically and he is one of my favourite fighters, I'd be supporting Frampton if the match-up is made but I was commenting mainly on the smoke and mirrors of the promoters/managers.

On Quigg-LSC, I think Quigg has a good chance in the fight actually. LSC isn't the hardest to hit and Quigg has pop and also has a good enough engine to match LSC and avoid getting worn down. I think it'd be a good style match-up for him potentially. I think any fight between the two of Quigg-LSC-Frampton would be very competitive and good.

Shame. I hoped it would play out with Frampton vs. Quigg first to determine the UK #1, and have that man go up against Santa Cruz representing their country with no ambiguity that he was top banana and therefore in a position to rightly contend with LSC for #2 status behind Rigondeaux.

That, or just have Frampton vs. Santa Cruz straight away with perhaps Martinez vs. Quigg in a doubleheader with the winners intended to meet. (and perhaps the losers as well, in sort of a bronze match?)

Ah well, can't be too upset about the chips falling where they have. Santa Cruz vs. Quigg and Frampton vs. Martinez II are both lovely match-ups. Super bantam is a lot of fun right now.

Quigg is seriously underrated on these boards, and unfairly so imo.

I'd give Quigg at least an even money chance against any of the top tier (Rigo excluded ).

Not trying to belittle Framptons acheivements or capabilities, but due to the fact he's a puncher and has a decent fanbase, people just assume he's the better of the two.

Well, that's a generalization. Quigg is right up there in the same general tier, but I don't think you can dismiss anyone's rating Frampton ahead of him as being solely down to superficial reasoning instead of real analysis.

Quigg is a classy boxer, yes, but you have to bear in mind that until the Munroe rematch he was yet to really do much. The victories over Jason Booth and Jamie Arthur for the British title were quaint enough at domestic level, but nothing to project world-beating on the basis of. Also remember that many felt he was getting the worst of things in Munroe I before it was stopped and many were tipping Rendall in the rematch. Of course he showed his class in that rematch, but heading into that you already had Frampton pegged for big things, rightfully so, having put together a better resume already than Quigg whilst being around for a shorter time in the pros. His run from Quon through Molitor was enough to show his stuff, as much as Quigg's claim to fame over the Binman - to date his primary one (I don't honestly think much of Salinas, especially compared with other Cubans). Frampton is the bigger puncher, though Scott is no feather-duster, and had literally tenfold Quigg's amateur experience and IMO that shows in their form. :conf I have difficulty imagining Quigg beating Frampton head to head, as well - though it would be no walk in the park.

Bottom line, Quigg is underrated - but that doesn't mean you can't place him behind Frampton without doing so frivolously. :good
