Mike Tyson vs Ken Norton

Ya? and Tyson was Pauli Malignagg.

 

Right this is the same Prime Tyson that went the distance with Mitch Green who was no where on the level of Norton!

 

Tyson also KO'd fighters that had never been KO'd before. Norton was a good fighter not a great one. There are maybe 3 fighters in the history of the sport that could have beaten a Prime Iron Mike, Norton is not one of them.

This **** will be quick. Styles make fight my man.

 

i like norton and hes an atg....but this is a horrid style for ken norton to deal with mike tyson in the 1st or 2nd rd

 

Tyson was to fast, threw excellent combinations, and a great chin gets worn down when you're tired. Tyson speed on the inside would have hurt norton and got him out of there with in 6 rounds.

 

Tyson by KO and my guess is inside 5 rounds. Not hard to imagine a quick blowout with Tyson being a fast starter. Norton may have been a huge problem for Ali who wasn't a puncher. Norton was good, no denying that but the speed, skills and ferocity of a prime Tyson means only 1 thing in my eyes...Tyson KO!

 

The one puncher Norton didn't lose to (Bobick), is the one he blitzed out before he got hit.

He showed a huge vulnerability to big punchers who landed on him. Shavers, who was a huge puncher but could be a mediocre finisher, finished him.

Tyson would land on him. Tyson was an excellent finisher.

It's not that Tyson was invincible; he didn't have to be. Mike was, admittedly, a bit of a front runner. That still doesn't mean Norton had the ability to outlast him, drag him into deeper waters, and drown him. Ken never showed that ability against a puncher, and I don't think he'd exploit that in Tyson. Tyson's chin was too good for Norton to catch him early like Bobick.

Tyson by KO within 5 for me.

 

I think Mike is a bad style match up for Kenny. Going with a Tyson KO early. Only because I don't see Norton backing up against a smaller dude.

 

If Tyson can't KO him early, I give the win to Norton.

firstly Mitch Grren was never stopped during his entire career

secondly that was a young green Tyson who was still learning

your post makes no sense just because green lasted the distance, doesn't mean Norton will.

going by your logic if shavers can, foreman can...Tyson definitely will

I always laugh when I read he will destroy this guy and that yet some guys hung in there and with a guy like. Futch in his corner you never know !

I mean outside of Spinks who did he really blow out that was a hall of famer in 2 rds ?

 

Cus died well before tyson fought Mitch Greeen and as i mentioned earlier, a point you ignored, Tyson was still green and hadnt quite hit his prime when he fought Mitch Green. However Mitch Green has nothing to do with Norton, Norton was stopped by Shavers and Foreman, his chances against Tyson are slim and none (and slim just left town)

What did Futch do for Norton when he was getting his ass handed to him by Shavers and Foreman?
Futch wont be fighting for Norton, yes his stragety worked against Ali, it wont work against Tyson, as Spinks found out.

Tyson fought 4 hall of famers, he knocked 2 of them out, neither had been knocked out before :hi:
Tyson knocked out a whole load of guys who'd never been stopped before, he also Ko'd many decent fighters in the first round.

What punchers did Norton outlast? Hof or not, it does not make you invulnerable to Tyson

Norton HAS been caught cold by 2 punchers, and with Tyson one of the fastest starters in history, Norton stands absolutely no chance. All this bull**** about Norton taking Tyson into the later rounds, it aint going to happen, Norton aint seeing the 3rd round.

 

Some of you guys act like Norton was some great technician and Tyson was some crude bum with no technical skill. Even if the fight goes the distance, Norton can not out point Tyson. From a technical point of view there is nothing Ken Norton does better than Tyson.
What Tyson would have done to Norton will be worse than what big George and Chavez did to him because unlike those two Tyson's power came with tremendous speed and Precision.

Get real people Tyson will effortlessly butcher Ken Norton.
