Boxers trying to come off intelligent is always cringe worthy to watch, my personal favourite cringe worthy boxers who try and come across intelligent and fail miserably are Eubank, Tyson, McGuigan, and these two bellends are trying and failing too. I'm all for people using a wide range of vocabulary but when you're taking punches to the head for a living and you're trying to speak like Christopher Hitchens and what you want to say is nothing like what actually comes out, cringe worthy viewing.
Its funny what we look at when watching these shows and it may mean absolutely nothing, but I noticed the reaching for the water also. Im no psychiatrist and it may not mean a thing or be anything, but I looked at it as a sign of Carl being uncomfortable
I think Froch is just trying not to descend to Groves' level. Groves' "I'm not going to do what you tell me to do" thing is just another example of his immitating Haye and Booth. Remember Haye making a big deal of that in the Klitschko buildup, calling him a control freak etc? Wlad said all he did was translate the german press calling for a pose for him lol.
I seem to recall Ward saying something sounding similar to Froch in their head to head talk. I think Carl likes to feel in control and wonder if giving him the impression he is not may change how he feels and fights??? As said though Im no psychiatrist and it may not mean a thing or be anything
Those who truly believe Froch won that battle of minds have no idea what they are talking about.... schoolboy error. Carl Froch was cool, calm... and ACTED throughout. He was not himself, he had to check himself repeatedly so as not to let the mask slip, he was agitated throughout... hence the sweaty hands and constant reaching for water. Blimey... was this not just bleeding obvious?
All roads lead to Calzaghe ? Froch clearly annoys you as he dared to challenge your hero, hence the constant criticism, and references to Calzaghe.
Agree with that. Groves pulling Froch's hand too and then nearly getting dragged back across the table. I'm sure full on psychoanalysis would come down on both sides, but for the average punter/fight fan just watching it, Froch seemed the easier.
Are you honestly expecting people to believe that?! :rofl :rofl atsch Froch won that easily. People saying he won't answer a question because he won't do what Carl tells him to is, quite frankly, one the funniest things I've ever heard. It was Johnny who was askign the questions anyway. Good to see that cringey 'Everything for a reason' idiocy getting exposed as well. Georgie got very, very flustered at this point. He's tried to look some mystical shaman but ended up looking like a ginger c0ckney weapon.
i looked at as a sign of being thirsty. What I would say is that Carl's odds have contracted since that show and it's obvious why.
I don't know how anyone can claim to read anything from that... Having watched it, nothing really seems different from the usual with these two. Carl sweaty palmed and being pedantic. Groves refusing to do what Carl says to the point of looking a bit childish... I think this fight goes the same way as the last fight regardless Froch hasn't got the tools to box against groves, his only hope is to put the pressure on and to try and grind groves down, but if groves boxes clever he wins. I fancy groves in a close ish decision as froch gets into the fight in the second half. 116-112 type decision but for corrupt judging and refereeing.
I thought this. He obviously worships Haye but doesn't have Haye's natural charisma. I liked Groves in the build up to the Degale fight but ever since he has progressively become more and more of a bellend, trying to be David Haye...
