The problem is those 15,000 most of the high end tickets are bought by the casinos for their high rollers and not by real boxing fans, those 80,000 are real boxing fans, most of Mayweathers are bought by the MGM group
Manchester United get 75000 every time they play at home. Arsenal........................60000 everytime they play at home. Football Cup Finals or England matches usually get near 80000 British grand Prix gets over 100 000 (I think) every year at Silverstone. The Grand National horse race gets over 70000 every year. The Derby horse race also gets big browds. Wembley would be packed everytime two top fighters met Imo.
Wow. As an American, I don't understand the fascination with Soccer. Those are huge numbers. I find Soccer to unwatchable. You guys love it.
ok, maybe I've exaggerated a bit, but he's not as popular in Europe as he is in the US, few would stay up to 4 or 5 AM and pay to watch, that's why nearly all his fights (with few exceptions like Hatton) are aired free
Germany and the UK would be the two main places. In general European sports have better fan support. In the US or Canada it would probably be impossible to get anywhere's near 80 thousand just because you'd never find a concentrated bunch of people to pack an 80, 000 person stadium and the travel costs are too much to bring people from else where.
