Apparently you didn't hear how condescending Donaire was towards Rigo. According to Donaire, Rigo didn't belong in the ring with Nonito. He was an amateur and Donaire was going to outclass him. Phonaire brought all this on himself.

Fighting an old Arce , Darchi and never before heard champions from nowhere are clear cherrypicks. He thought he can get away with a fighter who barely has 10 pro fights in his record an paid dearly for it. Hope he can get back to his warriors way and fight only credible opponents starting this sunday.

The thing is, that goes out the window when the guy makes the fight.

Regardless of what was said in the lead up, Donaire gave a low-reward, high-risk guy a chance. That's not cherry picking.

 

WTF? The 5 fights before Arce were Nishioka, Mathebula, Vasquez Jr, Narvaez, and Montiel.

Look, people don't have to like Donaire or be a fan, but to try and justify a cherrypicker label on him is insane. You can chalk this one right up to "Ken Norton had a good chin". :silly
