For those going to Wembley next week - Plans?

Well I will be at my local in Ruislip (not far from wemberly) early doors get to the stadium about 3 ish and hit some of the pubs near the ground.

am not going to bother in the stadium, £5 a pint of bud which is awful anyway. in a poxy pint glass. I'd be going the bog every 20 minutes for a **** and miss the action. cant be arsed with that. i'll wait til after and have a few before.

 

didn't know that was a board ruling just thought it was the arenas themselves.

some people would suggest it might be worth reverting to the old way

What's the best pubs around the stadium?

 

Dont bother with any of the boozers around the ground. Head for baker st and go to either the weatherspoons next to the station or the globe across the road. Baker st is 2 stops on the tube from wembley park

 

Every ****er goes round there before Wembley though!

If you are going round there rather than the tube from Baker Street I usually find it quicker to walk round the corner to Marylebone (about 5 mins walk also theres another little pub on the way The Beehive I think) and get the overground to Wembley

 

Most of the pubs around wembley are pretty crap, your better off getting tanked up in central london and then having a few more on the tube on the way. I live 5 minutes from the stadium and there's not a great deal to choose from.

 

Wembley pubs put their prices up ridiculously on event days - fiver a pint when I had a mooch about before CL final last year!

Stanmore is always fairly popular as only a few stops on the tube (though only the 1 pub), but I'd recommend Kilburn further up the Jubilee Line for afternoon drinking.

 

It's carlsberg mate and it's terrible.
I was there last week for the play offs,£4.90 I drank half and then swapped it for a tetleys which is at least supposed to be flat😕

Wembley is in a pretty poor place for walkable pubs. I never drink inside stadiums. Terrible plastic glasses, terrible lager or bitter, terrible prices. If I ever drink in a stadium I tend to drink Whisky to top up what i have had beforehand outside the stadium.

For drinking beforehand the fight would have been better at the MEN, Nottingham Arena, St James' park in Newcastle.
