he won a portion of the title within 4 years, and has since been fighting the best available who are WILLING to take a beating

comparing Wilder to GG is really silly, when Wilder hasn't even fought a Seth Mitchell level opponent as of yet, GG in 8 years at least has fought top 10 opponents, and Wilder also has a better promoter in GBP, who are letting him fight the Malik Scotts and White Wolfs of the world for a reason

Scapegoat excuse to justify a weak resume.

It's simple, Wilder is about to wreck some **** and they can't stand it. The drought for a fluid and artistic heavyweight is about to end. Plus I like Steverne also.

let's go through with this (again):

Sturm- ducked his mandatory Golovkin for 2 years before losing his title to Geale, will also keep doing the same now with his IBF scrap

Geale- immediately dumped his newly won WBA belt to avoid fighting Golovkin

Quillin- SHO-HBO conflict, before that he openly stated he has no interest in facing Golovki

Martinez- at the tail end of his career, his promoter is very reluctant to put him in a ring with GG

Murray- was a possibility, but has legal issues that forbid him to enter the US

Golovkin has been pro for 8 years, but he wasn't exactly talked about after 5 years of being pro because he didn't beat anyone of note during that time. Once he defeated Proksa, Rosado and Ishida, people started talking about him. Then he defeated top 10 guys in Macklin and Stevens, and considering the way he defeated all those guys, I think that it's fair enough to have people argue that he is currently the best MW.

That's not exactly comparable to Wilder, who is yet to defeat a top 10 boxer (hasn't fought anyone in the top 20 actually). He will have his chance against Stiverne so we'll see what happens. Also, Golovkin is clearly at least among the top 3 fighters in his division, while it's still arguable whether Wilder is among the top 10 or not. Plus, the top MW guys like Sturm and Quillin have been avoiding Golovkin, which is not the case with Wilder in the HW division. It was actually him being presented an opportunity to fight guys like Chisora, Solis etc but for some reason he didn't fight those guys.
Some people obviously hate on Wilder too much, but the two cases you pointed out aren't exactly comparable in my opinion.

As someone touched on, the difference lies in promoter. GGG got royally screwed by his promoter for much of his career.

Wilder is with Haymon and GBP. He could clearly be fighting top guys.

Personally, I dont hate the guy or like him. If he fights I will probably watch if im not busy. But some folk are saying hes gonna KO Wlad. Then other people say no way he hasnt fought anyone. Same ole crap either way. Just have to wait and see.

We can't even calculate the multiple of how many times more Ring rated contenders GGG has fought compared to Wilder because you can't divide by 0.

wilder is not the same guy he was in the amateurs. he's a much improved fighter. u have to remember that he came to boxing late in life. he didn't have much amateur experience and he still won bronze at the olympic games. they have been developing him further in the pros...and sure, he's taken on light opposition....but he's done exactly what he's supposed to against that light opposition. he has stepped up...and will step up more. there's no protecting him up top. they're just trying to groom him to stay there. i like the job that mark breland is doing. i don't doubt that wilder will be champ one day. and i don't doubt that he'll keep that title for a while as well. it's just a matter of time.

This thread is nonsense. Both fighters get hated so stop the agenda right there. I can bump a GGG hate thread for every Wilder thread you bump.

Secondly, as weak as GGGs resume is, it looks like it is filled with HOF, ATG killers compared to Wilders atrocious resume.

It has nothing to do with skin color, if Golovkin had the same attitude and carried himself the same way Wilder does then he would be hated the same. People are ducking Golovkin but Wilder has been ducking other people while having the attitude that he can knock out anybody with one punch and that he's the best fighter. If Golovkin chocked out a prostitute in Las Vegas then he wouldn't be getting so much love as he is now, same thing with Stevenson, if he didn't have the past he does then he wouldn't be hated at all.

GGG is a boxer with 345 amateur fights with only 5 losses, which weren't actualyl losses. He beat opponents, the fighters who are ducking him were struggling with, without problems. He's the most avoided boxer for obvious reasons. Why does Martinez fight Cotto? A bum who lost to a bigger bum named Trout? GGG calls him out for years. Sturm gave his title away to avoid GGG. Ward rather became a HBO commentator if he heard GGG wants to fight him.

    Who is Wilder?

GGG has everyone running, Wilder is running from everyone... There's the difference.
