I thought Canelo would avoid him for sure. This kid has balls. At 23 (after Lara) he will have already faced 3 guys most thought he wouldn't. If he wins, i give him huge credit because Lara is skilled but if Lara outclasses him it will look bad.
I don't think it makes canelo look bad, it is lara after all im kind of expecting lara to win a close decision. I think lara packs a good punch and canelo, atleast I think knows he can not outbox lara. I see canelo landing some good single shots, gets the crowd riled up but lara schools him.
right here. i gave him props already for making this fight when he didn't have to. i'll give him props again now. if he beats lara...i will become a fan. i honestly didn't think he would fight trout. he proved me wrong. i didn't think he beat trout though.
He's always been c**ky and the Angulo win has him believing his own hype. He will be schooled by Lara, maybe even stopped if caught by the right punch. I have always thought Canelo is overrated, yet I'm rooting for him to beat Lara who is also very overrated. I don't like either one of them. But it would be better for the sport if Canelo wins.
Cst80, cinnamon boy isn't ****y, don't buy into the translations showtime or other media outlets give you. They are shortened versions of what he said and are trying to give appealing quotes. Listening to him in Spanish It's clear he's not ****y, he's very humble. I think he's one dimensional and was even being outboxed by alfonso Gomez, but, I love that he's fighting the best. Can't fault him for that.
I'm not swayed by media hype, you can tell by the way he carries himself, he has far too much confidence in his own abilities. How can you blame him with Oscar stroking his ego constantly. No I don't fault him, I said I want him to beat Lara.
I didn't mean you were, I just meant in general, he's great for the sport. This fight is the most interesting fight for me so far. I agree Lara's overrated, he just ****ing stands there and counters, but he's fought well. I have no idea of the outcome, nothing would surprise me. Canelo could run him over or get embarrassed, anythings possible.
The reason why boxing is no longer as popular as it once was is because of people like Lara,Rigondeaux,Dirrell,Floyd,Ward,Crawford,Charlo's, not to look like I'm picking on slick black fighters but they are incredibly dull. Unfortunately the fun black fighters like Berto,Kirkland.Stevens, have chin issues and too many flaws. They are what the sport needs to be fan friendly again.
I saw Angulo land alot of shots on Lara. Canelo is a better boxer and can punch too. I think its a very good fight. I'm looking foward to it.
Honestly speaking I never thought it was an issue, canelo's a fighter and I can't imagine he fears any man in the squared circle, that being said its pretty clear to me that the Cuban has the skill set to completely befuddle the young lion even the most biased of fans can see Canelo is going to need to be on his A game if he's going beat Lara.
Lara admitted he went on his bike way to often in that fight standing your ground sometimes takes the edge off those shots and believe it or not I think Angulo has heavier mitts when compared to Canelo.
