Is Carl Froch the second greatest British fighter of all time right behind Lewis?

Lennox Lewis like Anthony Joshua, Frank Bruno, Naseem Hamed, Chris Eubank, and Nigel Benn are not British, and nor will they ever be.

No, he is a tremendous fighter but more importantly, has a tremendous record. go back in history though, and there are better

on pure ability alone, you only have to go back to Calzaghe to find one in his weight class who would outclass him

 

Calzaghe- Hopkins, Kessler, Bika, Lacy, shot Jones, shot Eubank

Froch- Pascal(undefeated, would later go on to win the LHW championship), Bute(undefeated reigning champion, included in most peoples p4p lists), Abraham, Groves, Kessler.


Honestly don't see how Slappy's resume is better than Froch's. Let's be real here. Froch has the greater wins and greater resume.

 

I understand what you're getting at but they have British citizenship so even if you personally don't consider them british I would argue that most boxing fans would say otherwise so for the sake of boxing argument I think we can say that they are british.

Sure ethnically, they are not western europeans so I see what you are saying when you say they are not British but they fight out of the UK and represent the UK so for the sake of a boxing thread you could say they are British fighters even if you don't agree with them being called British.

For me, Calzaghe is ahead because he never lost to Kessler and Hopkins is better than anyone Froch has beat.

The rest of their wins are similar. Good but not great wins:

Bute - Lacy
Taylor - Jones
Pascal - Eubank
Abraham - Bika
etc

 

Froch lost all his elite fights.

 

Calzaghe had better career than Carl Froch.

Carl Froch still got long way to go yet.

Carl is a great fighter, but he isn't the second best ever from this country. but he is great, no doubt.
