Joe Calzaghe would outbox both Ward and Froch. He would overwhelm them with volume punching and avoid counter shots by giving them foot speed and angles they just aren't talented enough to deal with. Joe travelled twice to America to fight both Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr. Ward won't leave America to fight anyone. That smacks of cowardice, always demanding the fight on your terms. Besides Ward is injured most of the time. 14 months to rehabilitate a shoulder? Really, I just don't think he is tough enough for boxing. He is still young and always is going to the hospital. Not tough enough for the legend, Joe Calzaghe.
Calzaghe would always beat Froch easily. He was 100% wrong for him in every way. It would have been a pointless fight at the time, because not only was Froch not well known, everyone who did know him gave him no chance at all against Calzaghe. It would have been another fight Calzaghe would get no credit for "staying in Britain fighting these robotic bums like Froch." Better off taking the Manfredo fight (which was supposed to lead to a fight with Jermain Taylor, irc).
The truth is that Froch would beat Calzaghe. Calzaghe lacks the punching power to stop or hurt Froch and his chin is likely in the same league as Groves. In England, I have Froch beating Slappy by TKO rd10
Calzaghe would make Froch look silly, it amazes me how in people's minds beating Groves means you could beat a legend like Calzaghe wtf had Groves ever done or beaten Froch beating him deosn't change the fact he got schooled by Ward, Calzaghe gave out schooling never took them and would have clowned Froch to a wide UD total different levels if you can't see that you don't no boxing. Put it this way Calzaghe beats Ward the guy who took Froch to school.
most people rate Calzaghe as the more skilled operator - clearly would have speed and reflex advantage over Froch, and quite astute defensively too - but it would be more competitive than most people think. Within his limits, Froch is quite skilled in a lot of ways, firing out that awkward jab, catching the heavy shots, feints, measuring distance. Froch v Calzaghe is a better match up than Froch v. Ward.
His dad was hyping him for the last round you plank. Joe schooled Hopkins in his own back yard the entire fight. Hop, being the pathetic cheat that he is, had to resort to faking injury several times . So much for never losing to a white boy.
