I would pick Chavez at this point, who would you pick?

Froch has shown he can be pretty good at boxing and avoiding a slugfest and I think his skills are generally just a few steps above JCCjr.

That said I think it could be a good scrap and with punchers like that anything could happen.

    Froch

    Honestly, 118-110 probably.

We've actually already seen this fight play out:

Imagine Froch from the Abraham fight against Chavez from the Sergio fight (except no 12th round).

Chavez rushing forward trying to pressure a guy like Froch is like Frazier to pressure Foreman, it aint going to work.

Chavez is going to catch a lot of leather which he aint going to be able to deal with, Froch will most likely handle anything Chavez dishes out.

    froch.
carl froch is obsessive about training, he logs everything he does in diary's and has done for years, where as chavez has problem's making weight for fights, has a reputation for not wanting to train and doesn't have the hunger and dedication that froch has.

Froch by late stoppage or fairly wide on the cards. Not even Arum could save Chavez in this fight.

In Vegas on a Top Rank show I think they'd stack the deck against Froch, also Jr is bigger than Froch, I see a slugfest with lots of fouling/dirty tactics, I think Jr might just win a close fight.

I favour Froch, but it's a much more difficult fight for him, at this stage in his career, than most would think. Chavez puts a lot of pressure on, has an excellent chin and is equally strong. I'd also say Chavez is much better on the inside.

If Carl can keep him at bay for twelve rounds he takes the decision, but I get the feeling there would be some uncomfortable moments in there.

    Froch would destroy Chavez.

Chavez will try and walk through Froch but im telling you, that is not going to work. Froch only really struggles against pure boxers. A pressure fighter like Chavez is going to walk into shots and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets KO'd.

As much as I dislike Froch, my bet is on him. Could be a decent fight though.

You would have to favor Froch. Chavez Jr has been coddled and fought NOBODY the one time he stepped up he lost every second of every round but the 12th.

Froch is mote battle tested and has more experience in fights like this.

Froch out-boxes and out-fights Jr, dominating him thoroughly.

I think this fight will come down to who could take who's punch better. I think Froch is showing signs of aging and if Chavez comes in shape he could take this fight.
