Technically you could argue Joe had the chance to face Froch but ducked him into retirement. Unlike Froch who faces his own young undefeated challenger.

Dont forget Jermaine Taylor, Kelly Pavlik, Chad Dawson, guys Calzaghe realistically could have fought around that period.

I think his fight with Kessler was him taking on the best up and comer of the time. Kessler was a dominant, undefeated, proven boxer puncher with KO power.

Froch (at the time) was unproven. He seemed less dangerous, lesser known and would have offered him less money than even a rematch with Kessler. It would not have made sense at the time.

Dawson maybe. He had good performances and would have seemed the bravest option.

The idea of having to go against the middleweights seems a little bit of a stretch and I think everyone would have favored Calzaghe and derided him for taking the easier options.

If Pavlik moved up to LH to face Bhop, im sure he would have had no problem moving to SMW to fight Calzaghe.

JT did fight Froch at SMW, i'm sure he was more than capable of moving up to face Calzaghe.

I would say it was more the aging of the golden guys like Holyfield and Tyson, and the lack of American talent to replace them.

You can't blame Lennox for that.

Those guys are more British than your sorry ass will ever be. At least they've brought recognition and glory for Britain.

What have you done for Britain? :hi:
