Outrageous Analysis of the Adamek vs. Bell fight.

    Shocking: Tomasz Adamek TKO’s O’Neil Bell in 8 in IBF Cruiserweight Eliminator

    In a total shock, O’Neil Bell, 26-3-1, 24 KO’s, the former Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion retired in his corner after seven rounds of action, giving Tomasz Adamek, 34-1, 23 KO’s, the TKO win and the right to challenge for the IBF Cruiserweight Title. The reason that it was shocking was the fact that Bell was very much in the fight and not taking many shots. RSR had him winning it by two points when he retired in his corner. He was constantly hunting down his opponent but was unable to land any clean shots, although his body attack seemed to be slowing down Adamek. The only moment in the sun for Adamek was a right hand that dropped Bell in the very first round, but other than that, he was in retreat mode.

    This looks like the end of the career of O’Neil Bell, which was once very promising. He knocked out the very tough Jean Marc Mormeck, only to lose the titles back to him in his very first defense. This was his first bout in over a year and the ring rust was evident, but I’m still puzzled by the retirement in the corner. He was winning the fight and elected to quit? This is astonishing and I am in no way impressed with Adamek’s style of run, run, run, and throw an occasional shot and then run, run, run some more. This has to go down as one of the strangest things I have seen in recent years.

    Bell has good boxing skills and can crack...going toe to toe with would be a bad idea for Adamek. He wasnt running

    Cunningham would have beat this version of Bell also, and I think will be a closer fight for Adamek I doubt Cunningham will not be knocked out. However I think Adamek will win a close but clear decision. No way Cunningham will quit so we are guaranteed a twelve rounder.

    This might be the worst post fight write up I've ever seen. It's about as bad as when ESPN had Taylor winning every single round of Taylor-Pavlik 1.

    Adamek was on his bike, yes, but he outworked Bell, IMO. Bell, did win a few rds on good body shots and work ethic. I honestly thought Bell was gonna turn up the heat late. Tomasz fought a smart tactical fight, moving and avoiding Bell's bombs.

    If you want to be charitable, Bell won 2 rounds at the most. Adamek was not running. He was going in and out and initiated punches enough times. The rest of the time, he countered Bell's aggresivenss. Sorry, no cycling here.
