Froch in terms of all time great British fighters

    First of all I would like to state I was 100% rooting for groves. I didn't believe that froch underestimated groves the first time, in hindsight I do believe he did, carl was so much better in this fight, even defensively, couldn't believe it.

    The 2nd fight I think groves tried to save himself and nick a few of the first 6 and then do what he did for the first half of the 1st fight in the 2nd half of the 2nd fight, sorry if that sounds confusing. George started to look a bit more busy in the round he got stopped as if he was about to start going for it, then froch landed an abulote peach, I won't lie I was gutted. Brilliant win.

    All that said, where do we rate froch in terms of British ATG's? For me I am genuinely thinking his resume may actually be better than Lennox's. I already thought it was better than calzaghe and now I'm certain. I cannot split the 3 of them. As much as I personally will never be able to connect and relate to him on a personal level, as a fighter he is un-****ing believable and I will miss him when he's gone. Potentially our greatest ever world champ.

    Massive credit to groves aswell, il always be a fan, congratulations to both on a historic night for both British and world boxing

    He's defo up there with the best over the last 20 years or so, but maybe not since 1945. Boxing historians seem to have v short memories. I'm no expert but can anyone remember someone who has achieved so much with such a modicum of pure base skill - hand speed, foot speed, agility, movement etc. Froch looks really average sometimes, but almost always gets the job done.

    Out of modern times id say just behind Lewis. Its getting close though. For me he has been ahead of calzaghe after the super 6 despite loss to Ward. I agree he may not be the most skilful fighter we have ever produced but he always seems to find a way to win and that's the most important thing legacy wise.

    Lewis is far ahead of any Brit since Randy Turpin. no one is close

    Why because he beat bruno rahman and a shot tyson?? Oh no I forgot he beat klitchko on cuts while getting beat on points

    Froch will never get the credit he deserves because his style isnt 'slick n flashy' hes very rugged but very effective what hes acheived is unbelievable and also hats off to Rob McCracken what a team

    Top 10 maybe, nowhere near top 5 though, Lewis, Wilde, Calzaghe, Buchanan and Kid Lewis are all still way ahead of him in my book, he certainly ranks above Benn and Eubank alright no question.

    Not quite up to Eubank and Benn, though if you take away the Watson II and McClellan fights he would be.

    Graham is by far the best post-war Brit. Buchanan has the best record of post-war Brits clearly. Lennox Lewis? Get out of here! He fought nobody near their best and lost to Mercer, McCall and Rahman, a who who's of who are they.

    Lewis got knocked out twice in his career Froch and Calzaghe have not, that's why I would rate both above Lewis who got KO ed by 2 second rate heavy whts.

    Getting Ko'd so what so i suppose you rank Froch above Pacquiao, Duran, Hearns, Pep, RJJ among others Lewis is miles ahead of Froch and slightly ahead of Calzaghe, For a start Lewis was the best in the world Froch isn't secondly Lewis beat ATG fighters Froch has never beaten any, Lewis beat Holyfield and Klitschko two wins way above anything Froch has ever done.

    I think Froch has shown himself a top 20 fighter, and knocking on the door of the top 10, if not quite there yet. Although avenging the Ward defeat open's that door...

    Bowe and Vitali were better than Lewis in the 90s and 00s. I also believe Holyfield from Tyson I and Tyson from Holyfield II would've done a job on Lennox.
