Carl "Fred Flintstone" Froch Clubs Barney Rubble into Bedrock

    As most people who know something about boxing predicted, Cave man Froch pulled out his club and bashed Barney's head in round 8.

    As I suggested earlier, Groves would use the eraly rounds attempting to keep distance and outbox Fred Flintstone, keeping the club in Fred's right hand at bay.
    Unfortunately for Barney he failed to learn from their first fight that the ropes are not his friend and once against them Fred would unleash his club against his cave man skull.

    These brawls are so very predictable, but still fun to watch unfold. :yep

    That's not what I saw.

    Groves had the same stance as David Haye. He was set for power punching, but Froch got him off his game plan by utilizing his long jab, and not overcommitting.

    Groves expected to counter Froch on the way in because he likely expected Froch to come in with wreckless abandonment.

    In the beginning, I thought for sure Groves would beat Froch because stylistically, he's a better boxer. You could tell Adam Booth knows his stuff. Haye and Groves have very good styles.

    I don't think Groves was on the same level as Haye who has better footwork, better head movement, and is a better fighter in the pocket, but a lot of that also comes down to experience.

    I think Groves with more experience would have beaten Froch.

    It's hard not to give Froch accolades though. He stuck to his jab early until he had Groves flustered, and put him away with power shots.

    Do I think Froch can beat Ward or GGG?

    No.

    I think Froch is a natural fighter, but he isn't going to get any better technically and that's why he won't be able to compete with those two fighters who are technically superior, and also have experience.

    I don't think Froch can beat Chavez either for that matter, who is an underrated technician himself.

    But you are hater. You don't really add anything but acrimony.

    It's sad. You need to rise above your hatred.

    Do I seemingly hate on Mayweather? Sure. But the fact of the matter is, Mayweather seriously diminished Pacquaio's earning potential by spreading lies.

    He also caused racism, the break up of networks, and is basically terrible for the sport.

    However, he is a great fighter. That can't be denied.

    He needs to fight Pacquaio though.

    Tool. Why bother with this stuff? Obviously, Froch and Groves are not all time top 10 but who is, a really even fight between toughness and skill. Competitive fights are sorely lacking these days...

    The sophistication of today's media buff has declined whereas this form of analogy is not only acceptable but realistic.
    The Flintstones (versus The Jetsons) is a great analogy to describe English elite steam engine powered boxing. :yep

    You went from Froch to Ward To GGG to Mayweather to Pacquiao to racism in one response. I guess you've been holding in a lot. :lol:

    The thread isn't about hate but rather is a realistic posting about the Froch's warrior Cave man style of boxing as well as this mega fight between Froch and a mediocre fighter like Groves.
    Can Froch beat GGG? No doubt he'd win over GGG, and for the same reasons he won over Groves. GGG is a nobody and has the same level of skills as groves but with a bigger punch. Still, he is a brawler. One that would be out-brawled by the cave man.

    Mayweather?
    Well that discussion is on a whole nother level and not a discussion topic in a thread about Bedrock England.
