Man Bernard, Oscar, Mosley and Barrera are just a bunch of glorified errand boys at GBP.

Richard was the brains and engine in the company.

This creates such a frighteningly unbalanced system that cannot sustain itself. If the fighters are not contractually bound to a promotional entity, then there is all kinds of chaos. Imagine this; no contracts in the MLB, NBA, or NFL. Everyone plays for whatever team they want on a per-game basis. How much damage would this do to the product? An athlete would have no accountability whatsoever, truly a terrifying prospect (and they might even only sign contracts for uocoming games against sub .500 teams so they look good against bad opponents to increase their asking price, which sounds like... BOXING) and sadly some would probably call guys who do this "saavy" or "smart businessmen". This arrangement with Haymon is similar to that and holds no fighter accountable to the quality of opposition he fights (we can't necesssarily blame the fighters, no one would choose difficult money over easy money).

you cannot compare team/league sports to boxing....where each fighter is his own entity....you just cant

in boxing you cant sign contracts for "upcoming games against sub .500 teams" because the network wont pay for it......the network will not simply sign off on albert pujols hitting against jeremy guthrie whenever he feels like it......you just dont compare a league to a sport like boxing....in any way shape or form

everyone seems to think that showtime will just overpay any haymon fighter to fight whomever they want.....people seem to think danny/herrera was the case....broner/maidana....stevenson/fonfara...and in the end you got some good/entertaining fights even though you didnt think they would be.....but everyone equated them to some "sub .500 sports teams".....haymon put danny in there with mathysse.....didnt everyone wanna see that?

what does it matter if haymons guys are contractually bound to golden boy when hes only working with golden boy anyway? so what if these guys are bound golden boy by some multi-fight/multi-year deal???? they are only fighting for themselves....they arent fighting for a team...for team golden boy.....

both danny garcia and mathysse are haymon fighters....does it matter if one of them...both of them...or neither of them have actual golden boy contracts? the fight got made and went off under the golden boy banner.....thats two above .500 teams....two division leaders squaring off

One problem, Schaefer's contract with Oscar does not expire until 2018...............
