He's not a better technical fighter no way is he. Ward has better footwork better defense better counter punching and a better jab. Ward is one of the best technical boxers in the sport today easily top 3.:deal GGG while good hasn't displayed his skills against elite level comp while Ward has and dominated them.

Froch is a nightmare match up for GGG to. He's much bigger and longer with underrated boxing ability and ring IQ. Froch has been in with the best and has so much more big fight experience than GGG.

(/QUOTE) any fighter that I see a couple times against even journeymen type fighters tells me all I need to know. ggg is the real deal and is starting to eclipse Floyd on my p4p rankings[/QUOTE]

I like ggg as a fighter, but this helps me understand some of the hate also. This has got to be one of the top 10 dumbest things I have ever heard In my god-damned life.:patsch
If this is true, why are you posting on a forum instead of counting all the huge money you've made betting on boxing? Tell me, which prospects that are fighting journeyman right now will be elite world champs in the near future?

Regardless of the hype even his haters have to admit he is exciting. His opponents faces look like they went through a meat grinder when he gets done with them. Not sure how people can complain up to this point? :think

He is going to be really stepping up in his next 2 fights so he will either succeed or fail. Lets see what happens first.

Was this before he was with Abel?

The reason i ask is because GGG is boxing in his old counter punching style in the video, his current aggressive style suits him much more imo.

Anyways, heres my take on GGG: Great Power, great timing, great jab, great chin, great footwork and cutting of the ring, good fundamentals, good stamina, great/good instincts when he uses them, his defense is a lot more cautious then most think i mean if you look carefully he never gets hit clean on the chin.

Weakness: overall lack of great speed, can be a bit stiff sometimes, can get reckless and wild sometimes (leaky defense as others have mentioned), doesn't move his head enough.

I think he beats everyone from 154-168 except ward and maybe froch, still give him a solid chance against those two though.

Frankly, I'm tired of all the trash talking and negativity toward Golovkin. From what I have seen of the guy he is impressive. Curtis Stevens is a tough, hard hitting fighter. He and Stevens had tough exchanges. They both hit each other but neither took a backward step. Those who are being critical must have some sort of an agenda because he has done nothing to make himself look anything but scintillating. I will always tune in to a Golovkin fight with high anticipation.

He's got GREAT power in both hands, he cuts off the ring VERY well and he's got great feet. The only real weaknesses are his lack of head movement and his disdain for infighting.

Don't think I ever seen Golovkin go stanky leg. Is that what people refer to when they say Ward has superior footwork?

he does not get hit a lot for his style. he is an aggressive fighter who likes to take the fight to his opponent, that style of fighting requires a solid chin because you are going to leave yourself open when you are constantly going forward throwing punches. if he were more defensive, he would not be the wrecking ball that he is.

GGG is a smart pressure fighter he's countering, jabbing, pressuring, breaking your body as well as your head or could just knock you out with one punch.Face of a dork, but body designed to take punishment as well to give it. He really doesn't need defense as a first priority as much as his opponent is going to need it!
