I really didn't have to come back with anything else. Your business acumen is terrible.

Ward holds none of the cards should a fight be made, it is really that simple. Him beating Froch means nothing in negotiations, Froch doesn't need him to get a pay day, he does need Froch. Froch earns much more, brings much more and therefore deserves more.

Let Ward continue to fight in front of 500 people in Oakland if that's what he want to do.

I have no idea what your Mayweather/Hatton comparison was about? At the time they where both superstars in their home country- and both undefeated. A better comparison would be saying that should Maidana have beaten Mayweather, then he would have dictated the terms at the rematch. Which is obvious bollox. The person who dictates the terms, is the person who holds the cards/brings in the money.

Boxing is a business. Fighters fight to get paid.

In a perfect world, where fighters fought solely for legacy, you might have an argument. In the real world though all that matters is how much money you bring to the table.

People saying Ward is sinking into obscurity are over exaggerating the situation. Yes at the moment Ward's career is not in a good place but he has time to turn things around once he either gets out of his contract with Goosen or finally sees sense and continues with his career. I'm sure Ward will go down as a great and be remembered for a long time.

But I will concede Ward needs Froch more than Froch needs him. Ward has Winky Wright/Mike McCallum syndrome. Too damn good yet not worth the risk in fighting. All the top fighters want a big payday which is why Froch wants Chavez Jr over everyone else and why Martinez wants Cotto not Golovkin.

Froch is the cash cow at 168lbs, he made about $4.2 million in his rematches against Kessler and over $13 million against Groves, while Ward made $1.36 million against Dawson and $2 million against Rodriguez. Boxers fight to make money as their main priority, it's always been this way, usually this goes hand in hand with facing the best.

While Ward won the first fight it doesn't mean he'll get to dictate terms. Look at the De La Hoya/Mosley fights, Mosley held out so didn't get a rematch for years and still made a fraction of what Oscar did when they finally fought again. When your the cash cow you'll always have more options and everyone that's worth fighting will be looking to fight Froch not Ward. That leaves Ward out in the cold with nobody wanting to fight him.

That's the brutal truth. I hate it, a fighter of Ward's ability deserves more, but it is what it is.

    Let's not pretend

    This is a duck

If you are the number two guy in the division and you are not trying to be the number one guy

    Then you are a ducker

    No ifs

    No buts

Is it even possible for a lower ranked fighter to duck a higher ranked one?

I usually reserve the term for champions who actively avoid worthy challengers and go to extreme measures to avoid them.

In this case, Ward's the champ, and Froch's the #1 contender. Ward already won once. Froch and his team may be avoiding Andre, but it's not a duck.

Did Tyson duck Lewis when he refused the rematch?

It''s not a duck, they already fought. Ward won. Ward wins every time.

Froch is under no obligation to fight Ward again.

Wow so beating Froch holds no weight in negotiations :? Interesting :think

Why else would this fight even be entertained I mean this would be a rematch yet my business acumen is terrible :think

The reason I made the Hatton/MW comparison is due to the argument being made that Froch deserves the lions share because he puts the asses in the seats ..

Hatton had a bigger following and was more popular ,yet did he deserve more of the garuntee ? I don't think so !

The person who holds the cards is Ward ,why well he is the man to beat at super middle ,and he is the one who holds the win over Froch not the other way around !

Why should he take less of the share with that said ? It would make no sense if you are Ward !

No matter how much money is on the table these 2 do actually care about their legacy !

As I said, you really are stupid.

Enjoy living in your fantasy world.

Ward should take less share, because less share would be his biggest ever pay day. It means nothing that he holds a win over Froch, we're talking about money.

I know someone who knows Carl fairly well, and he told me way back (even before the first Groves fight) that Froch has no interest in a Ward rematch because he knows he can't beat him and the numbers just don't make sense.

More of a reader than a poster but thought I'd share.
