Here's what you need to know... 1.  There are benefits to regular exercise, but as far as heart health and longevity go, marathoners may be no better off than the guy on the couch. 2. Research has suggested that free radical damage from long and frequent cardio workouts is especially detrimental to cardiac and skeletal muscle. 3. The long-term effects of chronically elevated cortisol such as you see in endurance athletes have nearly as detrimental an effect as oxidative stress with respect to disease, showing associations with metabolic syndrome, diabetes, heart disease, depression, and in fact all causes of mortality. 4. Many mistakenly blame food for putting our bodies into an acidic state, yet conveniently forget that their 2-hour run that same morning results in an acidic environment with a higher likelihood of causing damage. 5. If you love running or endurance training, you might want to find a new hobby.
It would be nice to post also your sources of information about this And please don't tell me to google it. When you post something like this you have to do it.
Its taken from Testing from Nottingham University, know the guy who did the Testing. This is out of context. but what He says is true, lucky theres an answer to the solution.
This was also an article taken verbatim from TNation about 3-4 days prior. As Scrap says, this is taken way out of context. Actually, in looking at this, the bullet points in the OP are taken right off of the website. The article is called...Cardio Kills. Look for yourself. The author of the article is talking about extreme endurance athletes, not boxers who run 4-6 miles a few times a week. This is getting very lame, and I rarely say anything.
Had dealing with the place, great set up.it was a fun thing, done in conjunction with TV. But the team do some serious stuff. .
No problem and no need to apologize to me. I enjoy your insights and am sure it was done in Nottingham. You are in the field and have a wealth of knowledge so are probably aware of much research, but his is just rehashed without even changing the wording to seem like an original idea.
