Froch has openly admitted that he isn't chasing a rematch with Andre Ward and will look towards other opponents for a bout in Las Vegas.

Carl has always played on the Warrior tag and I'm sure he has previously said he wanted the rematch to put his record straight, Correct me if I'm wrong about that!!

Instead he is looking at a match with Julio Cesar Chaver jr in Las Vegas but does this fight really mean much in the overall picture in his career but he has already had a stellar career boxing and beating great fighters.

I don't agree with his claim that US tv wouldn't be interested in the no1 and no2 in the division getting it on!! Although Ward isn't the best to watch he is American, undefeated and an Olympic Gold Medallist!

My view is that it won't matter that much and I think he knows that he won't beat Andre Ward so the Risk/ Reward is not worth it when he can make more money beating Chavez jnr where his style is better suited.

I ask because I see Frampton, Quigg, LSC getting stick for not wanting to get a piece of Rigo and wanted to see if anybody viewed what Carl has said as any different?

Will this effect how people view his career after he retires? Will you see it as a duck or as the right thing to do as I think because he thinks Andre Ward is actually just too good? Thoughts?

I don't post here much so may not reply but seeing as i'm on here at this very moment let me just add that Froch has fought Ward. He didn't have much choice but he's fought him unlike Frampton, LSC and Quigg with regards to Rigo and i'm not slating them lads.

Fact is Carl wants a Vegas fight and i cannot see MGM wanting to hold Ward vs Froch II with lots of tickets going unsold and with little fanfare. Julio has fought there before against Martinez so i can see why Froch is opting for this fight. It's a TV friendly fight..

It's winnable, He is a warrior as well i laugh at people who try claim otherwise just look at his catalogue of the past 7 years. When all those who called him a bottler he took on Groves in front of 80,000 and landed one of the finest right hands in British Boxing history. #mandated or not he sparked Groves beautifully. Banjo'd him in typical gladitorial style. Left many on here and CHB in a emotional wreck..

It's hard for a fighter to accept another fighter is better but today is probably Carl's way of saying ''look i been there, done that and don't fancy it doing it again. He's to good at what he does. It's not my style of fighting''. In other words he's better then me lets move on..

I don't blame him, It's not a fight i'm chomping at the bit at seeing again..

I agree not his biggest fan and dont think he won a round in the first Ward fight but he is coming to the end of his career and needs a decent payday in vegas before he sails off into the sunset.

If Froch were to fight him again, then do it in the UK.

He's a very, very good fighter and he beat me fair and square, he outpointed me. But he's messy, he's up close, he's awkward. He really is a bit of a spoiler. He's not somebody I'd be excited about getting in the ring with," Froch told Sky Sports News.

    That seems pretty fair...

I think he's probably got more than 1 more fight on his mind. It just doesn't make sense to fight Ward first.

Wards put crowds to sleep with his last few fights , creates zero intrest and is dwindelling his carreer away with promotional disputes making him inactive

I'm not sure it would help, I just think Ward beats him. I would love Froch for all of his great fights he has given fans to beat Ward and become no1 in the division before retiring.

Ward can't sell tickets in the US and Froch wants to fight in Vega.

Jnr would make for a much better fight. Everyone knows how good Ward is but he doesnt spark any excitement.

Fraud is as dull as dishwater. He's a black hole of charisma and nobody would care.

For money, Froch should take on Chavez Jr, GGG and Degale as his final three fights.

Froch has absolutely nothing to prove. Whoever he fights I'll be watching.

Ward is just all wrong for Froch, i think Froch makes it more interesting in a rematch, but Ward would still UD him.

Froch completely blitzed Bute, but styles make fights, and i think Bute would have more success against Ward than Froch would.

Froch has fought EVERYBODY who's anybody at 168, he's never ducked or avoided anybody at the weight, he's 37 and if he wants to cash out against Chavez then why not, i'd rather he retired now if i'm honest.
