Carl "The Cobra" Froch is ducking Andre Ward

Still no word from Ward about his next fight.
If he's available to fight now, is it his choice to sit on the shelf for 7 months(and counting)?
Seems strange to me that a healthy, top 5 p4p fighter would just choose to sit on the sidelines.

 

Well, yes I think Froch is avoiding Ward, though not because he is scared to fight him, just because not only is it not a money spinner but also he can't win, ten times out of ten he will be outboxed and frustrated for 12 rounds without being hurt.

 

In one of the interviews during the build up to Froch v Groves II, Froch stated that Ward would probably "retire undefeated" which says it all !!


Also he stated he wanted nothing to do with Golovkin because he punches too hard

 

froch is not avoiding ward. he is not a cowardzaghe.

 

Eddie Hearn has also said to make money in would have to be on PPV in the USA as well as the UK. He doesn't believe a Ward-Froch fight would be on PPV, whereas Froch-Chavez Jr would

 

Ward has to look spectacular in his next 1-2 fights to at least making it a PPV worthy fight.

Problem is that he has fought only TWICE since beating Froch and his best years are going to end up slipping away from him.

Such a poor management. He just needs to fight ANYONE and ANYWHERE and get rid of that conspiracy mentality that Virgil Hunter has instilled in him.

 

So I guess canelo is ducking mayweather?

Rios ducking pacquiao?

Wach is ducking klitschko?

I could go on and on.

Froch is not ducking anyone, as a previous poster said his next loss will probably see him retire so why not go and get some more wins before then.

 

I don't understand how a fighter can duck a fighter he already fought. It's not really Froch's fault Ward has promotional issues and hasn't been promoted well enough. I'm a fan of both but this is the harsh reality. Ward has won the supersix yet hardly anyone knows him. Hell even people in his own hometown didn't know he's fighting there and that was in his fight against Dawson.

 

Many of you like a grunt like Froch because you can identify with him....lol...well get this...

He is CONTENT with being a DISTANT #2 to Andre Ward...completely and shamelessly resigning himself from going for Glory...

for himself AND his lacking Boxing nation...


It's pathetic...and those of you who are defending it have no idea how bad that makes you look...


Britain's top fighter is happy with being 2nd Rate...if you had ANY personal familiarity with Greatness, you would be HATING him for this...

but you don't have any...you are literally aspiring to be average Joes.

 

As a groves fan I can't honestly say froch is flat out ducking ward but he does have to be careful as he only really has a short time left so a loss could be potentially very costly . Froch though has already fought ward in wards backyard so considering ward won that fight convincingly . ward should stop making himself look like whiney girl and get off the old everyone has to fight in America soap box and MAN THE **** UP AND TRAVEL HIMSELF GET A PASSPORT ANDRE AND GET ON A PLANE

 

Whats the point of getting on a plane when Froch clearly doesnt want to fight him?

 

Why would Carl go back to fighting in a half filled high school gym in Oakland when he's just sold 70,000+ tickets in his national stadium. I'm not saying he can do that every fight, but at this stage he's after big money in high profile fights, not low interest, low money snooze fests, albeit against the best in the division.

 

It is a bit of a duck, if Froch acknowledged that Ward is the best at 168 & didn't proclaim he is this & that while belittling Ward then fair enough, it would be like Marquez admitting Mayweather was too good for him & not wanting a rematch BUT Froch constantly goes on about Ward coming over to England etc etc

 

Who is Andre Ward? Is he any good? Froch is the acting Champion and in high demand, and its not surprising an unknown isn't going to ring his interest, surely he can find another opponent.

 

Also how can someone be "ducking" someone when they've already fought?
