It would help if more people asserting Iit should have gone either way provided a description of the action in detail. Otherwise to people who didn't see it, all the bickering just leaves everything confused. Tom800 did the best job of doing this in a clear and concise manner, along with Smoak when & where he jumped in.
It definitely wasn't a robbery thats for sure. You can't give Sam the 1st he was running for the last minute. 2nd and 3rd were close you could split them. How can it be a robbery?
Could you be a little more specific about the 1st? What did Meehan do in laying his claim to it, rather than focusing on Sam running in the last minute? (as that wouldn't preclude someone from necessarily bagging a 10-9 if they clearly did better work in the first two minutes)
I don't think this post was trying to be a round by round IB thread, if you want to do that you are welcome to go watch the tourney and report back?. :huh
It was a back and forth round both throwing a few mostly missing until Meehan landed a punishing body shot that legitimately hurt Sam and Sam was on his bike just hoping to survive the last minute. Meehan definitely landed the bigger shots throughout the whole fight. He was never buzzed at all. Sam got buzzed a couple of times, the only real advantage to Sam was work rate possibly and that wasn't really effective any way. It was a close fight though but Meehan deserved the nod
Just watched the sam v meehan now - the second round was the only clear one in SAMs favour. The other two could have been scored either way as there wasn't much in them. I don't think it was a robbery just a close fight.
