I think Cotto will look good for 6 rounds. Once Sergio times him, a beatdown ensues.

I wonder how much he will weigh on the night then.

I mean if he weighed in at 155 lbs he must be close to fully hydrated other wise he would have weighed closer to the limit and save him self from draining his weight as much.

Probably similar to Pacquiao and Marquez who weigh in at 144 lbs and fight night weights usually have them a few pounds heavier at 148 - 150 lbs.

Looks like he's banking on speed and movement in this one. Perfect choice against the bigger Martinez. Though if he can't hurt Martinez and force him to rethink his attacks he's in for hell.

I also think Cotto won't weigh too much more than 155 on fight night or he would've come in closer to the limit. I say about 160?

And I'm assuming Martinez will come in at least 170.

Martinez weighed 164 lbs against Barker. ( Although I think he purposely kept his weight lower back then to try and improve his chances to get the Mayweather fight.)

Cotto seems to be lighter with Roach as his coach, makes me think he could still fight at Welter, although I guess as you get older it is harder to cut weight.

Agreed. I love Miguel but think he's getting hammered.

I don't know if it's a big deal. Maybe he just doesn't want to carry on any extra weight, and wants to use the ring a lot. Martinez's legs are a question mark, with the knee injuries and age.

I think Cotto boxes smart, makes Martinez chase him around the ring with a bad knee for the first half of the fight. Then turns up the pressure and gets a knock down late in the fight and wins a UD.

Honestly it doesn't change my opinion on anything at all.

Cotto weighing 155 on principle sounds like a better Cotto than Cotto fighting at 159.

I don't care how much lamestream media and fat DanFtalks about how this is a even fight, true Boxing fans know this sh** is a mismatch. Cotto will take a brutal beating and Freddie Roach will eat his words again.

The only suspense in this fight is if Martinez' injuries will still hamper him, he's been rusty to say the least given his 1+ year break from boxing to recover from injuries.

As long as he's healed up, I have no doubt he's going to destroy Cotto tomorrow. He's too strong, too fast, just too good of a fighter compared to MIguel.

No disrespect to Cotto, but everytime he fights an elite fighter he falls well short. I consider Maravilla to be elite, although he's past his prime now, and as long as his injuries or ring rust don't become issues come fightnight he should have his way with the smaller Miguel .

Cotto 155# and he didn't even trained yesterday. Tomorrow he will be 160-162lbs. Martinez will be about 175

Martinez has never ever weighed more than 168 in the ringÂ…he will most definitely not weigh 175 or anywhere close to that tomorrow
