You're either looking at Chávez, Jr. in 2012 or Williams in 2010 the last time Martinez fought a quality boxer. At 39 and after a period of inactivity he could get old quickly. Throw in the injuries and this is definitely a game fight.

I like 4 or 5 to 1 odds for a Cotto knockout with the opportunity to lay it off for a small loss if Martinez doesn't look obviously shot in the first few rounds.

Agreed. I think this could be indicative of his gameplan vs Martinez. Stay mobile and wear down that knee.

I still pick Martinez via KO. His handspeed and strength should prove too much.

He could probably still make 147, but I don't think he's willing to put his body through that anymore. Dude likes to eat and he only has a couple fights left.

he needs to pop that jab and move around to test that leg but in general, he should be chest to chest, push to the ropes and pound the body. sergio is deadly at midrange. thats no mans land for cotto.

Martinez by TKO or KO. Who tried to get the NY boxing commission to no allow Martinez to wear a knee brace? Martinez would knock Cotto out with a peg leg, he doesn't have to move much to beat Cotto, he is bigger, stronger, better stamina, punches much harder and Martinez made the weight. How much will he gain after the weight-in? Cotto will not gain any weight after the weigh-in......................However, this fight is not worthy of being a PPV fight, not at all...............
