Canelo was exposed by Trout, who should have got the close decision, for Floyd. Floyd knew he could easily outwork Canelo because of how amateur he looked in that fight. How are people blowing so much smoke up Canelo's ass because of the Angulo fight. Canelo hit Angulo, who was a drained punching bag, with everything he had yet he couldn't knock him out or off his feet, even after the 2 wars he had with Lara and Kirkland. Canelo's a real monster he beatdown a 140lb Josesito Lopez, a shot Cintron and Gomez. He could't stop Matthew Hatton, couldn't hurt Mosley or Floyd. Yet somehow people have the perception that he is unstoppable. Pacquiao would win a UD, his constant in and out motion would be hell for Canelo, he would gas like he always does as he was doing late in the Angulo fight.
^^ I was a huge cinnamon boy fan until I saw him struggle against Gomez. Rewatch the fight, ya he won but looked bad through a lot of stretches. Still like canelo but he's severely limited, love his ambition though.
You're not supposed to tell them these things. Logic and reason are like a kryptonite for most boxing fans. Especially the ones that hate a fighter exclusively for their fan base (if that makes any sense at all).
Once Pacquiao beat this guy, expect a lot of threads about Alvarez being overrated,,... You guys need to realize, Alvarez doesn't have good footwork and has a question mark on his conditioning. Alvarez won't find an answer to Pacquiao's in and out movement.....
Lara would expose Canelo for how bad he's footwork is,,...though its not really hard to see that he's flatfooted.... I'm expecting threads titled "Lara was just too good" after that fight.... Pacquiao is better,, and Lara would beat Canelo..
Pac-Hatton, ODLH, Cotto, Mosley. KO2, TKO, TKO, KD. Floyd-Hatton, ODLH, Cotto, Mosley. KO10 via ringpost, SD, toughest fight of his career according to Floyd, goes to ***** street. Aside from JMM, Pac has demolished every common opponent easier, what makes Canelo any different?
Pacquiao would box circles around Alvarez. It would be the same scenario as Floyd/Alvarez, except Pacquiao might hurt him.
The only chance Pacquiao has vs Alvarez is if he drains him to 150/47 both fighters healthy and Alvarez trashes Pac. Alvarez is closer in style to Marquez than Pacquiao is to Trout so saying Alvarez-Trout is an indication of why Pac will do better I'm mean Pacquiao isn't a counter puncher/boxer he's a brawler. We've seen you don't need to have excellent foot speed/movement to beat Pac all you need is a good iq and counter punching ability. People also bring up fights when Saul was 17, 18, 19 like that relates to today its like people think Pacquiao is the only fighter who can get better. I'm looking at recent opponents and if a featherfisted Bradley can rock Pacquiao multiple times in the rematch Alvarez has more than enough power to put Pac's lights out. As far as the common opponents argument. Hoya @ 154 outweighing you by 15+lbs> Hoya @147 hadn't been there in years an smaller than the smaller fighter Hatton unbeaten @147 > Hatton just KO'd @140 Cotto @154 coming off wins with one of the best trainers in the sport> Cotto @147 coming off a KO with no trainer Mosley coming off his biggest win in years> Mosley coming off a loss and draw Marquez moving up 2 division's < Marquez at his natural weight. I don't see how beating a fighter coming off a big win is the same as beating him years later coming off a devastating loss but people will still argue it.
