I'm talking pound for pound. Leaving size out of it. You think Margarito was more skilled than Cotto?

I think Cotto is the best p4p fighter that Martinez has faced because of his skills and experience. If he was a genuine middleweight like Pavlik, I think he would do better than Pavlik did.

Interesting. I respect your opinion. I was thinking the same thing myself, but couldn't decide.

I happen to also think that Martinez probably has the greater will between these two. A really impressive will that he maybe doesn't get enough credit for.

The only debatable one there is Williams. Cotto is far more skilled than Pavlik or Marg.

Yes. Others brought different variables to the table like size, strength and power but Cotto is definitely the most skilled.

No by any means, even Dzinziruk was technically better than Cotto. Darren Barker is also more proficiente at 160 pounds and maybe the same can be said for Martin Murray. Miguel Angel Cotto has the experience at the big stage and he has some moves that he used at LWW, WW that don't work at SWW like the Austin Trout fight proved but others can be useful. He has the power and that is a great deal in this business, we think Miguel, we think raw power.

Dzinziruk makes Cotto look like Mikey Ward.

When did Cotto really "out skill" someone?

In terms of well-rounded overall skill-set, maybe.

Dzinziruk for one had a better jab, Pavlik a better right cross, and Margarito and Williams better cardio and pacing - but who that Martinez has faced possessed even a quarter of Cotto's potency with the left hook? Stone? Chavez? Who is as complete a fighter? I'd wager nobody.

That said, Martinez is bigger and faster with the slightly lesser stamina issues between them.

Actual boxing skill may not play into this one as much as Roach for instance believes it will.

None he faced matches his ring generalship....Cotto started as a boxer once he realized his power he became a stalker.

Martinez is in for a very unpleasant surprise!

    He will lose his Belt!!!!

I think their first fight kind of shows who is the more skilled.

I think beating down an opponent is skillful. Margarito applied smart pressure. If you meant slickness-wise, then I retract that one.

Again, Margarito proved who was more skilled. Pavlik has a double-fuucking-jab to be reckoned with in his day.
