I believe that as well. He said it was very close and keep in mind the version of Tyson that Roach worked with didnt have the same speed of the 80's or even 90's Tyson. His comment you mentioned about Mike being more explosive makes sense when considering the way they both handled their lone common opponent Frans Botha. It's easier for a fighter to see longer range punches coming than it is to see shorter quicker ones. Tyson's speed and lower body power is what made his punches so explosive.
That's it, it's time! Roach should leave the game and get institutionalized before putting fathers of families in jeopardy. Now, Miguel Cotto is Earnie Shavers or Ron Lyle? What is going on in this sick man's head? Cotto is gonna trade and gets brutalized for Chrissake. Nobody is gonna look out for him b'sides Roach? Nobody of the Cotto family? What a disaster! Bet the house in Martinez.
Coming up I always felt Cotto was a KO waiting to happen Corely rocked him bad, Torres rocked him bad, Judah was able to hurt him and so was Mosley But it took real beasts like Margarito and Manny to stop him and he has seemed sturdier over time I always have picked Martinez to destroy Cotto and just about any big volume puncher like a Paul Williams to crush him but Martinez is past his best and injury prone
I like the Botha comparison, but I'm not sure that Botha was the same guy as the one Tyson fought. I know he wasn't as highly thought of, but was that because he had lost, or because his skills were actually diminished? I really don't know. I wasn't actually studying a bunch of Botha film or a member of his fan club, believe it or not lol
the funny thing....when pac does all this bull****...catchweights etc...it's cool. but when cotto does it, it's not good? lmao! smh.
