Could Froch walk through RJJ power shots to land a solid right hand on Jones jr's questionable mandible in the late rounds?:think

    Froch wouldn't get to him.

Of course, if Jones made a mistake...

But how often did he, in his prime?

Late rounds? Wouldn't make it past 6. Roy would embarrass Froch in his prime.

No. Froch would probably last the distance but lose every round without ever landing a solid shot. Prime RJJ makes Dirrell look slow and Froch couldn't touch him.

Thank you for this very relevant and needed thread start, RealSoulja. First of all, we need to recall that Joe Calzaghe dealt with a slightly beyond prime Roy Jones Jr fairly easily. And Calzaghe was a cherrypicker. Imagine what a true warrior like Carl Froch (who Calzaghe ducked by the way, since Jones Jr seemed like an easier opponent) would have done to poor Jones Jr.

Whan it became obvious that Froch was unfaced by Jones Jrs power, I think it's safe to say Jones Jr would have been intimitaded and once defensive Froch would have stopped him.

I'm a Froch fan but this has to be a joke. I really hope so anyway.

Surely a joke? 'Slightly beyond prime Roy Jones Jr'? Roy was shot to shreds and gun-shy. In his actual prime, pre-heavyweight title bout Jones was unbeatable and would have toyed with both slappy Joe and Froch.

Froch gets schooled. But Calzaghe is a different animal. Calzaghe victory.

I like Carl, but prime Roy is a stylistic nightmare for him. Jones by KO in 6.

Froch knocks RJJ out in round 3 or 4 and I am not even a Froch fan.

We can't know that for sure. Albeit Roy Jones Jr had the luck to fight Joe Calzaghe after his hand trouble had started, Jones Jr was a very good boxer in his prime. His speed, reflexes and power was nothing to frown at. I think it's a tough call.

It would have been an exhibition for Jones in his prime. Froch boxes conventionally which works against other conventional boxers, but Jones would have been out of his league.
