Yes - it appears you have understood the points I was trying to make with tact and subtlety. Indeed GBP has been royally screwed.

You also have to look at it from Richards side. Arum has disrespected him and his company countless of times. Then the companies nr 1 guy, Floyd, is being disrespected and made fun of by Oscar, the face of the company who just came out of rehab.

They have had bad blood for years and years now.

the funny thing is that this was what oscar and schaeffer tried to do with their exclusivity deal with greenburg/hbo. oscar even came out to boast that he was going to control boxing. (espinoza was gbp's lawyer back then so he would be familiar with this "boxing monopoly" idea.)

the reason why it didn't work was that gbp back then didn't have enough fighters to make exciting fights week in, week out. it also didn't help that arum didn't play along and let his fighters fight against gbp to make those good fights.

Schaefer's organised some of the biggest nights in boxing. He's earned both respect and support.

That's true he did help to make some big nights. However, he would have never been put in that position were it not for Oscar. If Schaefer were still a banker, he would probably be with the rest of the Swiss Bankers getting taken down by the US Dept of Justice for facilitating major tax evasion schemes for decades now. Oscar did him a favor in a way.

Oscar should sell of Goldenboy Promotions, sit back on his $200 mil net worth, and sign a commentator deal for a few mil $ per year and let the scumbags of boxing cut each others throats to get ahead. Who needs the headaches

That analogy makes sense to me because it's my understanding that Richard and Oscar started the company together. Oscar had the lion's share of the cash and therefore controlling interest. Yet Richard was the brains and actually made the co. what it is. What's Oscar's educational background? There's no way in hell he could run or manage the type of investments he's engaged in by himself. He just don't have them skills and for the record, neither does Mayweather. Oscar trusted too much and set himself up for whats happening to him now. Running over and trying to do business with doggy Bob is not the answer cause that's like jumping from the skillet to the fire.

Oscar should take some blame too for trusting a Swiss banker. Did every one forget what they did in WW2? Arum can tell you

You don't get to the top of a corrupt industry like boxing without being extremely dubious and scummy. Honest hard working people get taken to the wood shed by the snakes in the world.
