If Cotto were to lift the lineal middleweigh title, that would be incredible...

If Cotto somehow wins...it's one hell of an accomplishment. I like Martinez by clear decision...and I believe that Martinez will fight Golovkin.

 

It would be very impressive. Only thing I would not care for is the whole "first Puerto Rican to win world titles in 4 divisions"..given how he won the titles at 140 and 147.

 

Firstly, I just can't see it. I'd say Cotto is on a par with Maravila technically, if not ahead, but the speed, power and other physical dimensions just don't favour him...and he's up against a southpaw.

But hypothetically speaking, this would be Cotto's greatest win by some shot. And adding it to Mosley and Judah at 147 as well as an under-rated campaign at 140, it would seriously enhance his legacy.

 

Cotto sucks, and anyone who says otherwise doesn't know **** about boxing and should find a different sport to watch

Nice work, I'm really genuinely happy for Cotto.

Martinez seemed to lose his equilibrium in that first, and I don't think the old man can take a knockdown like he used to...Nonetheless, an excellent, measured performance from Miguel. Left hook leads worked a charm against a relatively static southpaw, and he controlled the fight from start to finish.

 

Anybody could have beaten THIS Martinez, anybody

Cotto's victory proved nothing, aside from Sergio being a twat who lied about his injuries to rip off the fans for a final payday. He had no business in that ring, none

I picked Cotto form the outside and am glad I did.

 

It WOULD be huge and historical indeed.

But it won't happen. Cotto won't fight GGG ever.
