Martinez's legs looked terrible. However, he was hurt so early that we may have been fooled as to how bad his legs were. Martinez's eyes look clear to me after the KD's though. It's just crazy, he looked horrible. Martinez fought Williams, Pavlik, Chavez, other big middles who dwarf Cotto, and who, imo, would beat Cotto (maybe not all them, but most). He was never that fragile. Pavlik, I'm sure hits much harder than Cotto and so does Chavez who was huge compared to Martinez.

What happened? Was Martinez just hurt early and Cotto destroyed him and/or was he a completely shot fighter?

Cotto is due for a huge payday next fight up.

Sergio is shot, which is sad.

Hard to say but getting nailed in the first was unusual and from then out he could not land anything.

Martinez was cmpletely shot. When i heard he couldnt do roadwork and didnt spar for this training camp i should have known. You cant blame cotto though, he did what he was supposed to do.

Martinez vs Cotto is the definition of when a fighter's body tells him its time to hang it up.
