Any fighter above bum level from 154-160 and a handful at 147 would have beaten the utterly crippled version of Sergio we saw today :verysad

I'm surprised it took Cotto 9 rounds, imagine what GGG would have done to this version of Sergio :admin

Cotto deserves very little credit. He's just an specialist at beating cripples now

    Foreman
    Margo
    Martinez

It's pretty obvious now that Sergio NEVER recovered from his injuries, he was done, finished, kaput before this match. Sergio, Cotto and the media, they fooled us all, making us pay $$$ to watch this farce of a match

Completely agreed. If I were Cotto, I would be embarrassed that it took so long and he still didn't stop Martinez. Martinez could not continue. Sergio was not simply "shot" or "old". He was clearly disabled. Maybe Martinez thought he could still KO Cotto even without his legs, but he shouldn't have been in the ring. The fight proved nothing and was sad to watch on many levels.

    Agreed.

Martinez looked dreadful against C-Level fighter, Martin Murray. People are getting too carried away with Cotto's win here. He basically beat up a cripple and took 9 rounds to do so.

Who is he going to face next? Michael Watson?

i would go far as to argue most of the knockdowns were from slips and martinez peg leg rather than cottos "power" where was the "power" against trout? they matched cotto against the human skeleton of rodriguez to get people to believe cotto was back. martinez knew he was done he just wanted that one last payday.

Surprised by this, never saw the fight but thought Martinez would take him. Sergio has been an excellent champion but maybe time to call it a day, well done Cotto.

agree, in one of the last rounds he was close to falling by himself with the inertia of his own missed punch, his knee was completely gone :-(

Im dissapointed in both fighters for blatantly lying to the fans. Martinez was in no condition to take this fight

you dont need much skill to dominate a walking-on-a-limp cripple who has problems standing on two legs. Cotto proved nothing today, aside from the fact he loves picking on the handicaped

It seems that's what you would like people to believe but the Cotto that fought tonight would've beat Lickindicks ass at any time in his career. This was Cotto's night and he came to shine. He beat that totally and completely in every phase of the fight. Lickindick knows it and you didn't hear one complaint from him.

you have to give cotto massive respect for stepping up and put that notion to reality.

the signs were there, but still takes balls to make it real.

Danny Garcia KO's Martinez. The worst I've ever seen a fighter. His pants were sagging down and he couldnt plant at ALL. Just sad, like watching a sick animal in africa being killed and eaten.
