He could have taken the Martinez fight ages ago, possibly won it as well. But he never...

Cotto, on the other hand, gives ZERO F*CKS, and not only TAKES the fight but WINS via TKO!

    Miguel is the man. Period.

Talk about how 'Floyd beat Cotto' etc, but Cotto FOUGHT Sergio. Floyd didn't want anything to do with Sergio. Cotto threw caution to the wind and is smiling right now.

Just another one of THE MANY things that Floyd will be remembered for NOT doing instead of doing.

    Legacy hurt? Hell yes.

Floyd didn't ruin his legacy. His legacy is perfectly fine and he didn't need Sergio Martinez. If anything his legacy increased tonight by having one of his formal opponents win the lineal MW title.

There's no logical conclusion you can come up with to say that this hurt his legacy

    BS.

The biggest challenges out there for many years were Pac and Sergio. Instead we got f*cking Guerrero, Canelo, Ortiz, JMM and Maidana.

Floyd himself could have been the lineal MW Champ - How is that not better than a former opponent of his doing so?

why would you criticize floyd who is a welterweight for not fighting a middleweight? are you gonna criticize ppaul williams for ruining his reputation by not fighting cristobal arreola too? he wasn't even offered the martinez fight. your post makes no sense to me.

    Listen to yourself you idiot!

Cotto is a WW and he went up with no problems. Why couldn't Floyd do the same?

Cotto took Margarito when Mayweather didn't. Yes he got beat down the first time, but he came back and whooped Margarito like a man.

He stepped up and took one of the biggest challenges out there by facing Maravilla at MW.

I'm pretty sure he is going to go after GGG.

In the meantime, Mayweather fights the like of Victor Ortiz and Amir Khan.

Mayweather claims himself as TBE = The Best Ever but demanded a catchweight against Canelo but fought Cotto & De La Hoya @ full 154.

Cotto is a warrior and stepped up unlike Mayweather. :deal

This is so F****** stupid of a post that it only speaks volumes about the people who post on this forum. So one fighter is supposed to do what another fighter does for his career? So genuis...How come Calzaghe didn't move up to Heavyweight like like Jones Jr? I could go on & on about the tons of fighters who have made particular moves that was best for their careers....you know what, nevermind. It's obvious a waste of time to bring common sense to this post.

On the other hand, if some fighters didn't do what the fellow contemporary boxers of any time period did then we wouldn't have had an era such as the Leonard era where they fought to prove who was best.
