Would Floyd Mayweather be brave enough to move up and fight a middleweight champion?

Floyd is the only guy I know that could be accused of ducking someone he just beat 2 years ago. Insane.

Better question. If cotto was undefeated and a 5 weight world champion, p4p number one at 37 years of age, making 32 million a fight. Would cotto and his team risk going up to middleweight for the fight?

Nope and neither is Package, that's what makes fighters like Cotto brave, yes Martinez was injured but he still could not have known for sure it'd be that bad, Pac and Mayweather weren't gonna take the risk of finding out

 

you didn't get what i wrote, Martinez fought at lighter than 159 in his previous fights and could the pointless 159 agreement easily, Canelo has found it increasingly difficult to make 154, not to mention 152

Floyd could have fought him at 154 and the result would be the same btw, the 152 CW just puts a needless stain on his W over Ginger

 

But how can you say that when he didn't even weigh 154 for Trout?

He weighed a good 153 and looked so good against Trout, knocked him down and was there for 12. Yes he looked slightly gassed past 7 but he was fighting his heart out and did VERY VERY WELL vs someone who embarrassed Cotto.

You can't make that argument when he's never had a problem making weight. Like I said before, he didn't even make 154.

Not only this, but you have no idea what went on behind the scenes.

Canelo was the one who called him out at 150 (Yes a year or two ago) but all we know is that they negotiated 152. Canelo is still relatively young so he can make weight so much easier than the vets. He knew damn well what the stipulation was for the fight, he knew damn where what he was getting into. He thought he would make 52 easily and he did.

He made 152 well, he looked fit in the weigh in. (Please don't give me the he sat down bull****)

 

he was taking off 2 minutes every round after the 7th because his conditioning is totally ****, and the fact that he forces himself down to the JMW limit also doesn't help

I'm saying that Cotto and Floyd could of asked for the full JMW or MW limit, and the result would have been the same, Sergio would get dominated at 160, and so would Ginger at 154

there's a reason he asked for 155 vs Angulo in his very next fight

He wasn't taking 2 mins off, he was trying to box Trout and he countered Trout very well. He put on a boxing lesson during the late rounds.

It was CANELO who asked him to fight at 150, Floyd never ever asked for a catchweight from my knowledge (If you can prove me wrong, post an article). All we know is that it ended up to be 152, nothing more is known by outsiders.

Canelo knew he would make the weight easily and he DID. No difference would have been made whether it was 152 or 154.

I think people are grasping at straws way too much in regards to this.
