According to Cotto, Tito organized and paid for his own parades and welcome parties. I don't know. All I know is I live in New York, half my family is from PR, they're huge boxing fans and I tell it like I see it.

It's not even comparable how much bigger a star Tito was.

Trinidad was also a much greater fighter. WW JMW or MW…trinidad stops cotto in 4.

    My sentiments as well.

I really liked Tito. Just seemed like a nice guy.

I think Cotto is a quality guy. Family-oriented but reserved. I'll bet he is a very nice guy around those he knows. Some people just aren't cut out for the mass attention.

Not about boxing. It's about Tito's charisma. People just love him. Miguel is a very private family man. People didn't even know He was arriving Sunday. I even thought he was going to be at the Puerto Rican parade and fly back Monday. He just wanted to get home.
Tito's parties were announced before his fights. Everybody knew about it. The promos were all over local radio stations.

And we all know Puerto Ricans love to party!

Regardless what type of personality he has this was a big deal guys. He made history ffs. Alot of questions in that fight, whether he gets full cred, that's a different subject, but the significance of the fight and the history of that boxing nation just has me baffled at this type of reception for Cotto.

This is not reasons, but sounds like bitterness.. Cotto did not have to use illegal wraps to knock out guys, when Tito did move up you saw him get his ass kicked, and sounds like your still upset.. :yep

Tito is a lot more friendly with fans and the public. Probably too generous with his time and money if anything.

Cotto has a reputation of not bothering with autographs and pictures, being aloof and also not too friendly of a drunk.

Tito had more fan friendly style in ring too i guess.

Cotto is a bit of an icy fuk, pronouncing his words in that pseudo bourgeoisie Rican style that's prevalent these days. He talks about himself in the third person. Tito kept it real always emotional and expressive like those salt of the earth Ricans that are full of humility and heart that make you laugh and you love being around like a Roberto Clemente.

Cotto made the Trout fight a PPV in PR? WTF? Tito would never have done that, Cotto has millions why go there when times are hard on the Island? that should have been a gift to his people, instaed it comes off as Greedy, especially after the support he has received on the Island in the past.

Tito is an everyman we recognize and can identify with. Tito came up big against the very best.
