Of course not. But the only way for a punch to have any real effect is to find the target. A few years back when Sergio beat Kelly....Kelly had a difficult time finding his mark and on the flip side....wasn't all that hard of a target for Sergio to hone in on.

Cotto happened to land a good shot that buzzed Martinez early and never recovered. The difference is Cotto was able to land on Martinez where Kelly couldn't land clean at all.

Most likely not but he has the boxing skills that Pavlik will never have. That allowed him to connect his punches perfectly and not get hit as much as Pavlik did:deal

Cotto is on PED's obviously no evidence, but it is strange he all of a sudden has monster KO power at 154, its all because Roach knows how to train him to throw his left more efficiently.Sure.

Cotto couldn't hurt Trout who has a weak chin.
Couldn't Stop Paulie yet Hatton and Khan did.
Couldn't stop Foreman his leg went out.
Couldn't stop Mayorga he broke his hand.
Couldn't stop Margarito without Pacquiao's help.
Couldn't buzz Floyd, but Judah and Mosley did.
Stopped Judah in 11 Khan did it in 5.

Delvin while not worth much isn't that easy to stop.
Sergio has always had balance issues, he's really hard to hurt, although he still stood up to 9 rounds and probably could have gone the distance, he was being hurt worse because he was taking flush shots more than he usually does and his legs were shot.

I'm suspicious of Macmillan, I think Freddie has found a new Ariza.

Think Ruslan couldn't KO Corley, yet COtto, Aydin and Matthysse stopped him.
Then he nearly KO's Bradley in round 1, who is borderline impossible to KO.
Then Alvarado who Marquez nearly KO'd but couldn't stop, he makes quit.

This guy really knows how to strengthen guys really well doesn't he.

No he doesn't, he has the same level of power that he had in the lower weights. He hits hard, **** guys get destroyed, better guys last longer.

He didn't stop Bradley though even though he landed plenty so no super human PED power there. Ruslan is a naturally bigger, stronger guy than Marquez. If you are a good coach and improve your fighters performance, they are obviously going to be more likely to stop opponents especially if they are powerful, offensive fighters to begin with and especially if they are matched with the right opponents.

They could be using PED's but it's hardly the only possibility. It's not like Cotto steamrolled a prime 100% Martinez.

I have asked myself that question 1000 times. Delvin Rodriguez lasted 12 rounds against Trout and looked like a taxi driver against Cotto. But hey! Styles make fights!!

Martinez was far more deteriorated than I thought he would be, but I also don't believe he lost that much of his punch resistance. The only reason he survived is because Martinez can still take a punch, that shot would have probably put a lot of fighters down for good.

Even Murray and Chavez didn't seem to hurt him that badly and they were borderline cruiserweights.

Cotto has never been that big a puncher in the higher weights and I don't believe he can all of a sudden develop crushing power under Freddie's tutelage. He should be suspect just like Marquez.

Margarito was also able to stop Sergio so that shows you don't need to be a devastating puncher to hurt or stop Sergio. I don't see enough evidence to conclude that Cotto has developed "crushing power". Sergio looked past his sell by date and he still got back up, took a lot of punches, continued and could have probably gone the full 12 if need be.

People can suspect Cotto all they want but to me he doesn't suddenly look all that much more physically impressive. He was just landing more because he was up against weaker opposition.
