Quite probable. Not a guarantee though, one thing thats maybe worth remembering is Canelo and Floyd both have huge purse demands of their own. Cotto might actually be better off with a credible opponent that will bring his own fans out, or a minor drawing opponent like GGG instead of a fellow major drawing opponent like Canelo or Floyd because against the former Cotto can probably reap 80% or more of the proceeds. Cotto can probably get GGG in the ring for a couple million, yet have a very solid 8 figure take for himself. A Canelo fight would undoubtedly be a larger event overall, but Canelo would also be looking for 8 figures. Would there be enough to satisfy both? Not saying there isnt or wouldnt be.. but things can get tricky between 2 A-side PPV fighters when it comes to actually hammering out a deal no matter how obvious it is that the fight should be made. Just ask Floyd and Manny.
If Alvarez loses, I think his stock will drop A LOT. No shame in losing to Floyd and Lara though, both slick boxers to give his style problems.
Yes . Ive said the same thing . Even if Lara kicks Canelos ass , people will still want to see Canelo/Cotto . Puerto Rico/Mexico rivalry will always sell tickets .
2 Scenarios Canelo beats Lara he faces Cotto in Vegas or possibly Texas. Canelo loses to Lara the Cotto fight will take place in MSG. It all comes down to negotiating and right now Cotto is at the head of the table, Canelo actually has to look impressive in beating Lara, because Cotto just destroyed the middleweight Champion regardless of how damaged he was.
I'm sure it will happen, yes. I'd prefer to see Cotto/GGG myself but this is the fight that makes most sense. Two guys who are open to taking tough fights, especially where there's a lot of money to be made, it'll definitely happen soon.
Lara cab box and Canelo going to learn this. Canelo shouldn't be too concerned about the trouble Lara had with Angulo. He should focus on how he'll match up with Erislandy.
