Too right. The best ever Frazier would still lose to the best Foreman. It would be more of a fight, though. Maybe lasting five/six rounds with Joe having his moments but not enough of them to stop Foreman kayoing him.

I think too horrible of a matchup for Frazier. Peak Frazier fares better, but still gets stopped by George.

Frazier did write of holding on for dear life against Bonavena & avoiding the 3rd disqualifying decking.

But his skill set was not likely to unravel Foreman, who also cut off the ring very well & had a great jab. And actually had a wider assortment of punches that Frazier, just how crude Foreman was can be exagerated, he was better than say Max Baer.

I n this case the conventional wisdom is correct. Frazier aould rarely beat Foreman.

I think the ref ruined their first fight by allowing the pushing. A bit like the Klitscho-Povetkin fight, we didn't get to see how it might pan out differently.

    Foreman just had Frazier's number.

I do not think the pushing was nearly as much, let alone as bad, as constant hugging!
Nor would it have made the difference.

Even a Joe Frazier during his peak years wouldn't have matched up well with George Foreman of 1973 vintage.

or it may have to be the opposite way,Joe may have to get the jump on Foreman and hurt him early with his speed thing is prime Joe was not really a back off guy but he was quick enough on his feet to give a good side to side and get some punching angles for his hook. He would have to hurt George to at least gain his respect or hurt him....Lyle had the right Idea but Lyle had 2 hands and the right hand played a big part. Frazier was fit as a fiddle and a steam engine but unless he rocks Big G he had a guy with 2 hands fighting his hook but a big hook at that

You can't possibly mean this, Frazier-Foreman1 had no chance of ending differently.

Yes, I've mentioned that before. The peak condition Frazier with '76 tactics.
It's amazing Joe even stayed in there in '76 because everyone knows he was very war torn and out of shape for that second fight.
