Molina is a really talented fighter. I have no idea why Mexicans don't get behind him. Probably one of the most talented mexican fighters in a long time. I guess mexicans aren't too fond of his style.

 

Wasnt that like 4 years ago? I saw that fight and Lara isnt the same fighter he is far far better now and would likely obliterate Molina. The best thing about the canelo/lara debate is we`ll all get our answer soon. if lara wins there will be excuses by some canelo fans and vice versa. im a HUGE lara fan and believe he will win. i give canelo a lot of credit as he has stepped up and given the fans a fight we wanted that he couldve avoided. Trout,Floyd,Angulo and now lara in his last four fights has to be respected.

 

You said it: Styles make fights, but what about the styles of each of these two fighters?
Lara is a pure boxer with excellent punching ability. He likes to fight on the backfoot and uses a lot of ring movement against his opponents. By using this style, Lara is able to catch his opponents off balance with sharp counterpunches and use the jab against his opponents as they advance. The flaw in Lara's game is when he gets his back against the ropes, he has a tendency of spinning off the ropes with his chin in the air and his hands down.

Canelo is also a boxer who likes to stay in the middle of the ring. His boxing skills aren't as developed as Lara's and he is not as effective at counterpunching while moving backwards.
Canelo is not a pressure fighter and doesn't not apply constant pressure as most punchers do. He prefers to stay in the middle of the ring toe to toe. When he tried this with a better boxer (Mayweather) he loss any advantage in speed, accuracy and ring generalship to Mayweather.

I believe of the two, Lara is the better boxer and if Canelo hopes to outbox him, he will lose by UD.
If Canelo chooses to follow lara around the ring, then Lara will still outbox him and maybe even bust him up.
The only way I see Canelo winning this match is to apply enough pressure to trap Lara against the ropes and connect with some solid blows to slow him down and eventually stop him.

 

Wrong, even though Lara was knocked down twice, he was still winning the fight on the cards.

 

Canelo is an excellent boxer and respectful person that I like a lot who obviously, like Lara, is willing to fight them all, but will only win by ROBBERY from the corrupt boxing judges, in my humble opinion! Since boxing is so corrupt with it's scoring of fights, they should try having 9 boxing reporters (after training) score fights from TV monitors in a closed off private room. 2014 modern aged scoring.

I think Lara will mostly outbox him but also get caught with a few bombs. Could go either way, hard to pick.
