    Chris Algeri seems to have some speed, an ok jab(he is tall and has a good reach for 140lbs).

    Let's not forget we did see Herrera outpoint Ruslan, but that was before Ruslan got a bit better IMO. Also Herrera is better than Algeri, Herrera is faster and I think Algeri has a pretty leaky defense.

    Also he has no power to stop ruslan in his tracks... NOt that many fighters would be able to crack his chin though.

    I give him a pretty low chance... Ruslan is grossly overrated though.

    Ruslan is a better fighter, but on the night, if Chris can put on a stellar performance and Ruslan is taking him lightly, we could see an upset.

    Ruslan can be outboxed. We just don't know how good Algieri is. He may be the type of guy who fights to the level of his opposition, hence we haven't seen the best he has to offer.

    From what i seen Algieri has a decent Jab and i like his uppercuts, especially against a no defense come forward brawler like Ruslan. It all epends if Algieri can take Ruslan's power or box well enough to stay away from the bombs.

    I think Algeri has a decent shot to pick up the win, He may be able to box and move his way to a decision. But Provodnikov really impressed me especially against Alvardo and I feel the most likely outcome is for him to eventually get to Algeri and break him.

    Considering he's a late convert to pro boxing, Algieri's done really well for himself and has developed quickly. He deserves credit for that and his commitment to maximizing his potential.

    I just can't favor him in this fight and I think Ruslan's going to do a number on him when it's all said and done.

    That said, I won't rule Algieri out 100%. He's getting better every fight and, even though there's a big step up between Taylor and Provodnikov, he does have the style to potentially gives Ruslan fits. If he's continued to improve and Ruslan has an off night, there's not so much a difference that an upset is impossible.

    Herrera-Danny and Lucas-John Molina were prime examples why you should NEVER underestimate the underdog

    I didn't give Algeri much of a chance... But big props to him. I admit I was wrong... Mainly thought Ruslan would be able to get to his body more.

    Edit: I was right about Ruslan being overrated... I'm not sure if he was more overrated than even I thought... Or Algeri was better than I gave him credit for. hmm...

    Oh what a surprise, box4life11 got another prediction wrong.

    He is currently at a good constant 0%.

    His fighters are going down the drain 1 by 1.

    Matthysse..... Provodnikov.....and guys like Garcia/Algieri are dominating the division

    :hi::rofl

    I don't know if he has a chance. hmmm. Maybe, but he has to box and avoid being knocked down in the 1st round.
