He just wasn't the same guy. Maybe he got old, maybe it was his knees. I don't know, but he wasn't the same guy. And the ring was small. To be honest, that's the size a ring SHOULD be. But I can't assess how good Cotto is based off that fight. I don't know if he would beat Mayweather or how he would stack up against the other middleweight challengers. First of all, Mayweather wouldn't allow a ring size the size a ring SHOULD be. Secondly, we don't know if Cotto still has issues with stamina. Anyway, that's what I thought. Cotto did look defensively tight and he was throwing short, compact punches, for what it's worth, so he may have improved considerably. I just can't tell from that fight. Still wouldn't mind seein Mayweather rematch him...but first.... Mayweather gotta fight that GUY HE PAID THAT MONEY TO!!!! Pacquaio!!!!!!
Two things. 1. Change your format how writing a post. Compact, short paragraphs get your point across better. 2. I agree with your post for he most part. Great win for Cotto, Martinez wasn't the same.
Martinez was badly injured, the worst he has ever fought. The old Martinez would have knocked Cotto out. Golovkin would knock Cotto out easily. Void refused to fight Martinez at 150, shows what Void is made of, yes, Void is a chicken.....................
On the other hand. .......This wasn't the same Miguel Cotto either. Cotto helped steer the fight in his favor early by clipping Sergio and never let him recover. It's not like either of them are in the or physical primes....so this was a battle of styles. ....A top level big man vs a top level smaller man in the twilight of their careers and the little guy upset the bigger guy. Props is all I can dish out to the winner and respect the man who came up short. Miguel looked strong and very polished as a Middleweight/jr Middleweight so it will be interesting to see what direction he decides to go after this huge win.
