Wiesfeld's scorecard was ridiculously bad.

I agree, HBO would be better off without him.

 

I thought Weisfeld was at least fair in his reasoning and open about the fact that it may have been a much closer fight than he had it. Lederman probably would have had it 12-0 Provodnikov because he was the one moving forward.

 

He was ****. I kept asking myself, "How did he give Ruslan that round?" Landing 5 or 6 punches that "sound harder" doesn't win you a round. Algeiri out worked him, out landed him, and boxed beautifully.

The problem with "house" judges is they lack impartiality. And it's like they start this snowball rolling down hill and it's never going to stop. The fighter they see winning just keeps getting bigger and bigger as the fight goes on. In this one, though, I have to say I was pretty much in line with Weisfeld, rewarding quality over quantity.

 

My biggest beef with him is he has no microphone presence. He has no business being on tv or radio. Hbo really couldn't find a guy better than this?

 

I think the networks broadcasting fights would be smart to show how Press Row is scoring it, as opposed to an in-house guy. This would help to make their broadcasts more balanced. It would also force their commentators to give pause if they are out of line with what they are seeing from Press Row.

 

Stop whining.
Both Wiesfeld, Kellerman and Lederman will probably end up inducted into the HOF.

Those who can't perform either officiate, judge, commentate, manage or present.

 

He stated clearly that judges could have the opposite scorecard to him, as there is no official way to score this kind of fight, do you prefer the pitypat volume, or the hard meaningful punches? And he was spot on, 1 judge scored it like he did, the other 2 the opposite way like he said it could have been.

IMO he's very good. He warned us well ahead that the fight could go either way, despite his wide scorecard.
