    NO

The Hall of Fame SHOULD be for fighters in which, you could not tell the history of the sport WITHOUT mentioning the individual....

I don't think Sergio's career was great or decorated to that point....

It's the HALL of FAME people.....

I think that is more a question of why did Gatti get in. I loved him as a fighter, but other guys deserved to get in over him. Am I right or wrong? I loved his spirit of fighting. But Sergio losing to Cotto sort of sealed it. I don't think he goes in the HOF unless he beats someone significant and wins another title.

Gatti got in for his popularity and excitement.

I think it's a given that many other fighters deserve to be in the IBHOF over Gatti based on skills and ring accomplishments.

I understand why. But the thread was about that. I loved Gatti and he came to fight. I am split as to if he should have been in. I don't know, but Martinez should not make it in the HOF with what he has done now.

The Hall of Fame has a much lower bar than we give it on this forum.

I don't feel that either Gatti or Martinez should be in.

Martinez to me was a good fighter in a weak era. Not a HOFer in either resume/achievements nor abilities.

Not enough to get into it. If he could make a great comeback after his latest KO loss, then I might think otherwise.
